The sensitive data identification feature of Data Security Center (DSC) scans over 800 file types across 13 categories, such as text files, office documents, and image files. You can view the complete list of supported file types in the DSC console.
Prerequisites
The DSC service is activated.

If you have not activated the DSC service, activate a Free Edition instance or a trial instance to view the supported file types. For more information, see Activate the Data Security Center Free Edition and Activate a 7-day trial of Data Security Center.

If your DSC instance has expired, you must renew it to continue using the service. For more information, see Renew an instance.
View supported file types

Log on to the Data Security Center console.
In the navigation pane on the left, select .

Click the File Type tab to view the supported file categories, the number of types in each category, and the file type list.

To view the specific file types in a category, click the expand
icon to the left of the category name or click the number in the File Types column.The file types are organized into the following 13 categories: Text Files (109), Office Documents (144), Image Files (86), Design Documents (10), Code Files (91), Binary Files (23), Data Files (25), Signature Verification Files (18), Archive Files (50), Applications (41), Audio and Video Files (70), Chemical Structure Files (7), and Other (223). You can expand each category to view the list of supported file extensions.
