[Notification] Security upgrade for Database Gateway
On August 10, 2025, Database Gateway will be upgraded. After the upgrade, gateways in the US (Virginia) and US (Silicon Valley) regions will drop support for the insecure TLS_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA cipher suite under TLS 1.2.
Date of Change
August 10, 2025
Affected regions
US (Virginia) and US (Silicon Valley).
This region is the region where the access gateway is located—specifically, the region specified when the database gateway agent was started.
Impact and recommendations
Impact
In the United States region, gateways using the TLS_RSA_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA cipher suite with the TLS 1.2 protocol will become unavailable.
For new DTS instances: You cannot establish connections or create tasks by using a gateway configured with this deprecated cipher.
For existing DTS instances: If your DTS instance uses the deprecated cipher through an affected gateway, connections will fail after the effective date, interrupting data synchronization or migration tasks.
Recommendations
Ensure that the Database Gateway functions normally after the upgrade. For more information, see Recommendations.
