Impact of expiration or overdue payment

Subscription

  • After a subscription instance expires, data transmission tasks stop running and the instance is locked.

  • If you do not successfully renew the instance within 7 days after it is locked, the system releases and deletes the instance. Released instances cannot be recovered.

Note

If a DTS dedicated cluster expires or has overdue payments, DTS instances in the dedicated cluster are locked. After 7 days, the instances are released and the dedicated cluster resources are also released.

Pay-as-you-go

  • All pay-as-you-go instances under the account with overdue payments enter a suspension-pending state.

    • If the overdue amount is within the grace period quota, your services are not affected by service suspension.

      Note

Alibaba Cloud provides the extended suspension-free benefit. When a pay-as-you-go resource is overdue, you can continue to use cloud services for a certain amount or duration. Normal fees apply during the extended period. For more information, see Extended Suspension-Free Benefit.

    • If the overdue amount exceeds the grace period quota, pay-as-you-go instances are locked and services stop.

  • If you do not successfully top up within 7 days after the instances are locked, the system releases and deletes the instances. Released instances cannot be recovered.

Recommendations

  • To avoid service interruptions, we recommend that you renew subscription instances before they expire. For more information, see Renew instances.

  • For pay-as-you-go instances, we recommend that you regularly check your balance and top up your account, to ensure that your account has sufficient funds.
