This topic answers frequently asked questions about billing for Data Transmission Service (DTS).

FAQ

  • Q: If I manually stop a pay-as-you-go data migration or data synchronization instance, will I still be charged?

A: For pay-as-you-go data migration instances, billing occurs only when incremental data migration is running. You are not charged when the migration is paused. For pay-as-you-go data synchronization instances, billing starts after they are configured and continues even when they are paused.

  • Q: What is the difference between instances of different specifications?

A: Instances with different specifications provide different transmission performance. If other factors, such as instance parameters, network bandwidth, and latency, are the same, an instance with higher specifications delivers better performance. For more information, see Data migration link specifications and Data synchronization link specifications.

  • Q: Why are data synchronization instances generally more expensive than data migration instances?

A: Data synchronization offers more advanced features, such as the online adjustment of synchronization objects and MySQL two-way synchronization. In addition, data synchronization uses the internal network for transmission, which ensures lower network latency.
