DTS lets you add synchronization objects to a running data synchronization task without reconfiguring the task.
This procedure applies to the previous DTS console. For the new console, go to Modify synchronization objects.
Prerequisites
-
The data synchronization task is in the Synchronizing or Synchronization Failed state.
-
The source and destination databases must be running. Do not perform upgrades, specification changes, network switches, or cross-zone migrations on them.
Usage notes
Synchronization behavior for new objects depends on whether initial data synchronization is configured:
-
If not configured, DTS synchronizes only incremental data starting from the current time.
-
If configured, DTS first performs schema synchronization and full data synchronization, then synchronizes incremental data.
Procedure
-
Log in to the DTS console.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Data Synchronization.
-
At the top of the Data Synchronization page, select the region of your synchronization instance.
-
Find your synchronization task. In the Actions column, choose .
-
Optional: Specify whether to perform schema synchronization and full data synchronization for the new object.
ImportantThis setting applies only to the newly added objects.
-
In the Source Objects section, select the object and click the
icon to move it to the Selected Objects section.Important-
To use object name mapping, move the object from the Selected Objects section to the Source Objects section, add it back to the Selected Objects section, and configure the mapping. Otherwise, the mapping does not take effect.
-
You cannot add synchronization objects at the column level.
-
-
Click Precheck and Start.
Note-
DTS runs a precheck after you modify synchronization objects. The task starts only after the precheck passes.
-
If the precheck fails, click the
icon next to the failed item for details. Fix the issue and rerun the precheck.
-
-
After the precheck passes, data synchronization begins.
