Full data validation tasks support the pay-as-you-go billing methods.
NoteThe Verify based on the number of table rows mode is free of charge, and the Full field validation by row sampling mode is charged. For more information, see Full data validation.

Incremental validation
The price for incremental validation depends on factors such as the regions of the source and destination database instances, the number of shards in the database instance, and the instance runtime. The price on the purchase page prevails.
Note-
Incremental validation is supported only for synchronization or migration instances that exclusively run incremental tasks.

You are charged for incremental validation tasks even when they are paused.

Full validation
The Verify based on the number of table rows mode is free of charge. The billing for the Full field validation by row sampling mode depends on factors such as the regions of the source and destination database instances, and the validated data volume. The validated data volume is determined by the amount of data in a single validation and the number of validations. For details, see the table below.

Full validation tasks for data migration instances are billed based on the price of an instance in the same region as the destination database.

You are not charged for failed full validation tasks. You are charged for full validation tasks that find inconsistent data (error code: DTS-RETRY-ERR-0271).

How is the data volume for full validation calculated?
The data volume for full validation is calculated based on the amount of network traffic that DTS reads from the source database. This volume is affected by the size of the data to be validated and the communication protocol of the database.
