Change a database password

After you change the password of a database account used for data migration, data synchronization, or Change Tracking, update the password on the DTS console to keep the task running.

Prerequisites

A data migration task, data synchronization job, or a new Change Tracking channel is created.
Note This operation is not supported for older Change Tracking channels. On the Change Tracking Tasks page, check whether your channel is a new version.
New Change Tracking channels display a New tag in the Subscription ID/Name column.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DTS console.

    Note

    If you are automatically redirected to the Data Management (DMS) console, you can click the jiqiren icon in the lower-right corner and then click 返回旧版 to return to the classic DTS console.

  2. Depending on your instance type, click Data Migration, Data Synchronization, or Change Tracking in the left navigation pane.
  3. At the top of the page, select your instance's region.
  4. Find the target instance and click its instance ID.
  5. Depending on which database password you want to change, click Change Source Instance Password or Change Destination Instance Password.
  6. In the Change Instance Password dialog box, enter the old and new passwords for the database account.
    Note
    • Old password: Enter the current password for the database account.
    • Password: Enter the new password for the database account.
    • Confirm Password: Enter the new password again.
  7. Click OK.
