Data Transmission Service (DTS) allows you to dynamically scale out the nodes in a dedicated cluster. If a dedicated cluster has insufficient CPU, memory, or available DUs to meet your business requirements, you can add more nodes on demand to improve its performance.
Billing
You are charged for new nodes on a daily basis. The expiration time of the new nodes added to a DTS dedicated cluster is the same as that of the existing nodes in the cluster.
For example, a DTS dedicated cluster with two nodes and a subscription duration of one month was created on March 1, 2022. On March 15, 2022, you increased the number of nodes in the DTS dedicated cluster. The new nodes were billed based on the remaining days of the month. Both the new nodes and existing nodes expired on March 31, 2022. If you renew the DTS dedicated cluster after it expires, all nodes in the DTS dedicated cluster are billed on a monthly basis.
The fee for added nodes is calculated with the following formula: Monthly subscription fee / 30 × Remaining days in the month.
Usage notes
-
The total number of nodes after scaling out must be greater than the current number of nodes in the DTS dedicated cluster.
-
All nodes in a dedicated cluster must have the same storage capacity.
-
When a DTS dedicated cluster has only 4 available DUs left, or its CPU, memory, or disk utilization reaches 80%, you must promptly scale out the cluster to prevent resource shortages from affecting its performance, stability, and disaster recovery.
Procedure
-
Go to the DTSDTS Dedicated Clusters page.
-
To the right of Workbench, select the region where you want to create the dedicated cluster.
NoteIf you are logged in to the Data Management (DMS) console, select the region for the dedicated cluster to the right of Cluster Task.
-
In the Cluster Task list, use one of the following methods to open the Configuration Change page.
-
In the Operation column for the target dedicated cluster, click .
-
Click the name or ID of the target dedicated cluster, or click Detail in its Operation column. Then, in the upper-left corner of the Cluster Management area, click Scale out Cluster.
-
-
On the Configuration Change page, configure the following parameters.
Parameter
Description
Cluster Type of DTS Instance
Select Dedicated Cluster.
Number of dedicated cluster nodes
Select the total number of nodes after scaling out.
NoteThis value must be greater than the current number of nodes. The maximum is 100.
