Upgrade an instance configuration

If your current instance configuration no longer meets your business needs, you can upgrade it.

Prerequisites

  • Before you upgrade the configuration, the data migration task must be in the Migrating, Pausing, or Migration Failed state.
  • You can upgrade the configuration only for data migration and data synchronization tasks, not for change tracking instances.

Usage notes

  • You can only upgrade an instance. Downgrading an instance is not supported.
  • During the upgrade, incremental data migration and data synchronization may be delayed by about 5 seconds. Perform this operation during off-peak hours.

Billing

  • Subscription instances
The upgrade fee is calculated using the following formula: Upgrade fee = (Daily price after upgrade - Daily price before upgrade) × Remaining days in your subscription.
Note The daily price after the upgrade depends on the number of remaining days in your subscription.
    • If the remaining subscription period is less than 300 days, the upgrade is billed at a monthly rate.
    • If the remaining subscription period is 300 days or more, the upgrade is billed at a yearly rate.
  • Pay-as-you-go instances

You are charged hourly based on the instance configuration at the time of billing.

For more information about pricing, see billing overview.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DTS console.
    Note

If you are automatically redirected to the Data Management (DMS) console, you can click the jiqiren icon in the lower-right corner and then click 返回旧版 to return to the classic DTS console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Data Migration or Data Synchronization.
  3. Find the instance that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.
  4. Select an instance class and the Data Transmission Service (DTS) Service Agreement checkbox.
Note For more information about instance classes, see Data migration instance classes and Data synchronization instance classes.
    • When you upgrade a data migration task, select a Migration Instance Class. The available instance classes include large, xlarge, and 2xlarge.
    • When you upgrade a data synchronization task, select a Synchronization Instance Class. The available instance classes include micro (up to 200 records/s), small (up to 2,000 records/s), medium (up to 5,000 records/s), and large (unlimited). From the Synchronization Instance Class drop-down list, select the target class and the service agreement checkbox, and then click Pay.
      Note
  5. Click Pay or Go to open, and then follow the prompts to complete the process.
