If you no longer require a cluster, you can release the cluster to avoid unnecessary costs. This topic describes how to release a cluster in the Elastic High Performance Computing (E-HPC) console.
Prerequisites
The cluster data is backed up.
After the cluster is released, you cannot restore the data stored in the cluster. Exercise caution when you release a cluster.
Background information
When you release a cluster, its pay-as-you-go nodes are released automatically. Subscription nodes that have not expired are retained, and expired subscription nodes are automatically released. To release subscription nodes before they expire, you must request a refund or change the billing method of the instances to pay-as-you-go and then release them. For more information, see Change the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go and Unsubscription instructions.
Procedure
-
Go to the Cluster List page.
-
Log on to the E-HPC console.
-
In the left part of the top navigation bar, select a region.
-
In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.
-
On the Cluster List page, find the cluster. In its upper-right corner, choose
> Release the cluster. In the Delete Cluster dialog box that appears, click OK.
