Transfer an ICP filing to Alibaba Cloud
If your domain name already has an ICP filing with another service provider but you want to deploy services on Alibaba Cloud, you must complete a Transfer-in ICP Filing. A Transfer-in ICP Filing adds a domain name that is already filed with another service provider to the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system. This allows you to host the domain name on an Alibaba Cloud server. The process does not affect your existing filing data with the original service provider, and your original ICP filing number remains unchanged. After the transfer is successful, your domain name can run on servers from multiple service providers simultaneously.
According to the regulation that requires access providers to record ICP filing information, Alibaba Cloud cannot access your filing information from other service providers. Therefore, you must submit a complete application and upload all required documents in the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system. The process is nearly identical to a first-time ICP filing.
Use cases
-
Domain name filed but not with Alibaba Cloud: Your domain name has an ICP filing with another service provider, and you want to host it on Alibaba Cloud.
-
Multi-provider hosting: You need to host your domain name on servers from both Alibaba Cloud and other service providers. This requires completing a Transfer-in ICP Filing with each provider.
-
Server expiration or provider change: Your hosting service with the original provider is expiring or you are switching providers, and you need to move your services to Alibaba Cloud while the original ICP filing is still valid.
Before you begin
-
Verify your domain name's ICP filing information.
-
Log in to the platform of your original service provider to find the entity information (such as company name and ID number) and the ICP filing number.
-
Ensure the domain name has completed real-name verification and that the registrant information matches the filing entity information.
-
Ensure your domain name is valid for more than three months to prevent your application from being rejected.
-
-
Prepare an Alibaba Cloud account.
Each Alibaba Cloud account can file for only one entity. Therefore, you must use a separate account for each entity that requires an ICP filing.
-
Prepare an Alibaba Cloud ECS instance for ICP filing.
-
Method 1: Purchase an ECS instance with your account.
NoteRequirements for the ECS instance:
-
The instance must be in a region within the Chinese mainland.
-
The subscription duration must be three months or longer, including cumulative renewals.
-
You must purchase public bandwidth.
-
-
Method 2: Use an ECS instance from another account.
Use the account that purchased the server to generate a service code in the ICP Filing console and assign it to the account that you are using for the filing. For details, see Authorize another account for ICP filing.
NoteOnly accounts that have completed enterprise real-name verification (excluding sole proprietorships) can authorize other accounts for ICP filing after purchasing an ECS instance.
