Modify the properties and tags of a custom image, such as its name, description, and boot mode-Elastic Compute Service(ECS)-阿里云帮助中心

To more easily manage your custom images, you can modify their properties, such as the name, description, NVMe drive, and boot mode.

Prerequisites

You have created or imported a custom image.
You have created the required tags. For more information, see Create or attach a tag.

Modify the properties of an image

Go to ECS console - Images.
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group of the resource that you want to manage.
On the Custom Images tab, find the image that you want to modify. In the Actions column, choose > Edit.
In the Edit dialog box, set the Image Name, Image Family, NVMe Driver, Boot Mode, and Image Description as needed.
- Image Name: Enter a new image name as needed.
- Image Family: Select an existing image family or enter a new image family name. For more information, see Overview of image families.
- NVMe Driver: Set NVMe Driver to Supported. This allows the system to recognize that the custom image supports NVMe drives. This ensures that ECS instances with NVMe capabilities created from this custom image can start properly.
- Boot Mode: The boot mode is the method used to boot the system disk when an ECS instance is created. For more information, see Instance boot modes.
- Image Description: Modify the image description as needed.
After you complete the modifications, click OK.

Note

You can also click a custom image ID. On the Basic Information tab, click Modify. Alternatively, you can move the pointer over a parameter value and click the icon to modify the parameter as needed.

Modify the tags of an image

Tags identify resources that have the same features. For example, you can use tags to group custom images that belong to the same organization or have the same purpose. You can then easily retrieve and manage resources based on their tags. For more information, see Tags.

Go to ECS console - Images.
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group of the resource that you want to manage.
On the Custom Images tab, find the image. In the Tag column, move the pointer over the icon.
- If the custom image has no tags attached, click will be bound to instances. Are you sure that you want to perform this operation?.
- If tags are already attached to the custom image, click Modify.
- To attach tags in batches, select one or more images in the image list and click Add Tags below the list.
- To detach tags in batches, select one or more images in the image list and click Unbind Tags below the list.
In the dialog box that appears, follow the prompts to complete the operation.

Note
You can also click a custom image ID. In the Basic Information section, click the icon next to Tags to modify the tags as needed.
