Deploy the AMH panel

Prerequisites

Before you install the AMH panel, your ECS instance must meet the following requirements:

• The operating system must be Alibaba Cloud Linux 3/2, CentOS Stream 9/8, CentOS 7.x, Ubuntu 22/20/18/16, Rocky Linux, or AlmaLinux.

• A public IP address is automatically assigned to the ECS instance. Alternatively, an elastic IP address (EIP) is associated with the ECS instance. For instructions on how to enable public bandwidth, see Enable public bandwidth.

• Port 22 is allowed in the inbound rules of the instance's security group. For detailed instructions, see Add a security group rule.

  Note

  When you deploy web services using the AMH panel, you must also allow traffic on ports 443 and 80.

• The ECS instance has a clean operating system, meaning no other panels or environments such as LAMP or LNMP are installed.

  Warning

  • Installing the AMH panel on an ECS instance with existing services may cause installation failures or unexpected behavior in AMH. This can even render existing services unusable due to port conflicts or resource contention. Therefore, we strongly recommend installing the AMH panel on a fresh system.

  • Reinitializing the system disk erases all data on it. We recommend creating a snapshot to back up your system disk before you proceed. For more information, see Re-initialize the system disk (reset the operating system).

Install the AMH panel

1. Connect to your ECS instance.

   For detailed steps, see Log on to a Linux instance by using Workbench.

2. Run one of the following commands to download and execute the AMH installation script.

   • Quick install: This method uses pre-compiled packages from the AMH official website for your operating system. This allows you to install AMH quickly without compiling from source.

     wget http://dl.amh.sh/amh.sh && sudo bash amh.sh

   • Custom install: This method lets you choose specific versions of server software components, which are then compiled during installation. Append the software and version numbers to the command, separated by commas (,).

     Important

     • This method is suitable for users requiring specific component versions instead of the defaults.

     • The installation process takes considerable time. Choose this option with care.

     For example, to install Nginx 1.26, MySQL 8.0, and PHP 8.3, run the following command.

     wget https://dl.amh.sh/amh.sh && sudo bash amh.sh nginx-1.26,mysql-8.0,php-8.3

3. Enter y and press Enter to start the installation.

4. A message similar to the following appears, indicating a successful installation.

   You must then allow traffic on the panel's ports and use the provided URL and credentials to access the AMH panel.

   Access the management panel at the following URL (if access is restricted, open the panel port, such as 36150, in your provider's security group)

5. Based on the output, allow inbound traffic on ports 36150 and 36151 in your instance's security group. For detailed instructions, see Add a security group rule.

   Note

   The ports used in this guide are 36150 and 36151, but they may vary depending on your installation environment. Always use the ports shown in your actual output.

Log in to the AMH panel

1. Enter the AMH panel URL in your browser's address bar to open the login page.

2. Enter the AMH Username and AMH Password, and then click Log In.

   Enter the verification code shown on the page.

3. After you log in, you can view your instance's basic information.

   The panel's dashboard displays Server Memory Information (including used memory, free memory, and swap), Server System Information (including the operating system, kernel version, system architecture, hostname, and system time), and Server CPU Information (including CPU utilization, core count, and clock speed). The left-side navigation pane contains management portals for Website, Database, Files, FTP, and Backup.
