Resource plans offset specific fees on a prepaid basis. Learn about effective time, deduction order, and usage constraints.
Effective time
-
A resource plan takes effect immediately after payment.
-
However, offset fees are reflected in bills after a 3-to-4-hour delay.
For example, Alice purchased an outbound data transfer plan of 1 TB for the Chinese mainland acceleration region at 10:30:30 (UTC+8) on August 12, 2021. The data transfer plan was valid for one month. In this case, outbound data transfer fees were offset at around 14:00:00 (UTC+8) on August 12, 2021. Outbound data transfer fees were not offset until the system generated the data transfer bill of the billing cycle from 10:00:00 to 11:00:00.
Order
If you own multiple resource plans of the same type, they are applied in the following order:
-
The plan with the earliest expiration time is applied first.
-
If all plans are exhausted, excess usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
For example, Alice purchased two outbound data transfer plans for the Chinese mainland accelerated region. One of the resource plans expires on July 1, 2021, and the other on August 1, 2021. In this case, the resource plan that expires on July 1, 2021 is applied first.
Additional rules
-
Each type of resource plan offsets only its corresponding fee type.
For example, outbound data transfer plans offset only outbound data transfer fees, not fees for other billable items such as HTTPS requests.
-
Outbound data transfer plans apply only when the metering method of Dynamic Route for CDN (DCDN) is pay-by-data-transfer. Each plan covers only the accelerated region specified at purchase.
For example, a plan purchased for the Chinese mainland accelerated region offsets outbound data transfer fees only in the Chinese mainland. It cannot offset fees in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), or other countries and regions outside the Chinese mainland.
-
For WebSocket data transfer plans: These resource plans can be used for offset only if the metering method is pay-by-data-transfer. Resource plans are region-specific and cannot be used across different accelerated regions.
For example, a WebSocket data transfer plan for the Chinese mainland can be used to offset only WebSocket outbound data transfer fees in the Chinese mainland. You cannot use it to offset WebSocket data transfer fees in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), or other countries and regions outside the Chinese mainland.
-
For IP Application Acceleration (TCP/UDP) data transfer plans: These resource plans can be used for offset only if the metering method is pay-by-data-transfer, and they are applicable only to requests in the Chinese mainland.
-
After a resource plan expires or is exhausted, subsequent usage is automatically billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
