Migrate DCDN domain names across accounts
You can use the domain name migration tool to move a DCDN domain name from one Alibaba Cloud account to another.
Use cases
The domain name migration tool migrates DCDN accelerated domain names between different Alibaba Cloud accounts. This tool is primarily for the following scenarios:
You have multiple Alibaba Cloud accounts and want to migrate an accelerated domain name from Account A to Account B.
When you try to add an accelerated domain name, you receive a prompt that the domain name has already been added. You do not know which account owns the domain name and want to move it to the account you are currently using.
If the domain name is already used by another cloud service, such as ApsaraVideo Live, and you need to migrate it to DCDN, submit a ticket.
Prerequisites
You cannot migrate a domain name if either the original account or the destination account has an overdue payment. You must clear all overdue payments before you can proceed with the migration.
If you use a RAM user (sub-account), the RAM user must have the AliyunDCDNFullAccess permission for the specified resources to perform the migration. For more information, see Manage RAM user permissions.
Important notes
To ensure the security of your domain name, you can migrate only one domain name at a time. Batch migration is not supported.
If the number of DCDN domain names in the destination account has reached its quota, you cannot complete the migration. To proceed, increase the domain name quota in Quota Center. For more information, see Quota Management.
If the domain name you are migrating has live traffic, we recommend that you switch the traffic to another domain name before migration and switch it back after the migration is complete. Do not migrate a domain name that is actively serving traffic.
If the origin server for the domain name is an OSS or Function Compute domain name, origin authentication may fail after the migration. This can cause origin fetch failures. Confirm the read permissions of the origin server.
If WAF or DDoS is enabled in the original account but not in the destination account, the migration of the domain name will be blocked.
If the domain name to be migrated is configured with WAF or DDoS, or if its migration is restricted, submit a ticket to perform the migration instead of using the self-service tool. This ensures optimal performance.
If the domain name to be migrated has an SSL certificate configured, you will no longer receive certificate expiration reminders after it is moved to the destination account. You must upload the certificate again in the destination account.
After the domain name is migrated to the destination account:
The resource plans in the original account can no longer offset the traffic generated by the domain name. Resource plans cannot be migrated.
The associated resource group and tags are not migrated with the domain name. If you use resource groups or tags to manage your domain names, reconfigure them in the destination account.
Ensure that wildcard domain names and exact domain names for the same root domain are in the same account (for example,
*.aliyundoc.comandexample.aliyundoc.com). Otherwise, configuration conflicts may occur, and the exact domain name's configuration takes precedence. Before migrating the domain name, disable features such as monitoring data, log data, and operations reports in the original account. If you do not, these features will continue to send logs, reports, and other information to the original account and incur charges. After the migration, you must reconfigure these features in the destination account.
If your domain name is restricted from migration, you will receive a notification when you attempt to migrate it. Submit a ticket.
