This topic describes the features, benefits, and billing of real-time logs.
How it works
When you use DCDN, your services generate a large amount of network log data. The real-time logs feature collects logs from points of presence (POPs) in near real time and delivers them to Log Service (SLS) for storage and analysis. This helps you quickly monitor services and troubleshoot issues.

For more information about Log Service, see Log Service.
Usage notes
The traffic usage of accelerated domain names that is queried by using the monitoring or resource usage feature available in the DCDN console or by calling API operations differs from that collected in logs. Typically, the traffic usage of accelerated domain names that is queried by using the monitoring or resource usage feature is 1.1 times that collected in logs. For more information, see Why is the traffic amount found by using the monitoring and usage analytics feature or the usage statistics feature different from the traffic amount that is logged?
In terms of resource monitoring, data is collected based on the region and ISP of client IP addresses. In terms of metering, fees are calculated based on the network traffic, bandwidth, and number of requests on DCDN points of presence (POPs) in each billable region. The resource monitoring data and the metering data may be slightly different due to different collection methods.资源监控的曲线图主要用于带宽趋势的展示,如果您需要查询计费账单对应的计量数据,可通过查询用量详情查看。
Benefits
- Near real-time delivery: After you enable the service, log data is automatically delivered to Log Service. You can view real-time log analysis results with a latency of less than 3 minutes.
- Rich data fields: Real-time logs provide numerous log fields. For more information, see Log fields.
- Compliance: The collection and delivery of real-time logs are compliant with relevant standards.
- Powerful analytics: DCDN integrates with SLS for powerful data analysis. Logs delivered from DCDN to SLS automatically generate visual analysis templates, helping you better analyze and monitor your services. Example use cases include:
- Fine-grained URL analysis: Analyze access trends, user profiles such as geographic location and access source, and availability for a specific domain name.
- Service reliability analysis: Analyze error codes, problematic domain names, error-prone URLs, and the IP addresses that generate errors.
- Network quality analysis: Analyze metrics such as response latency and cache hit ratio.
- User profile analysis: Analyze user distribution by geographic location, client device information, and access sources.

Billing
You may incur the following charges when using real-time logs:
| Billable item | Billing method |
| DCDN real-time log collection fees (charged by DCDN) | Pricing of value-added service - Real-time log entries |
| Log Service (SLS) usage fees, such as log storage fees (charged by Log Service) | Log Service pricing |
