If post-paid items are a major business expense, purchase an Edge Security Accelerator (ESA) post-paid deduction package to reduce your costs.
Traffic deduction package
An Edge Security Accelerator (ESA) traffic package offsets post-paid traffic that exceeds the free quota included in your Basic Edition, Standard Edition, or Advanced Edition plan.

A single traffic package can offset post-paid traffic charges for multiple ESA services of any edition under the same UID.

Different editions use different deduction ratios. For details, see the deduction ratio table below.

Traffic is calculated based on the following conversion rates: 1 GB = 1,000 MB, 1 TB = 1,000 GB, and so on.

Purchase a traffic package:
ESA console
On the Resource Plans page, click Buy Resource Plans. Select ESA Traffic for Resource Package Type and choose a package size based on your needs.
Sales page
Go to the Edge Security Accelerator resource package sales page. Select CDN/Whole Site Acceleration/ESA Resource Package for Product Type and ESA Traffic for Resource Package Type. Then, choose a package size based on your needs.

On the Resource Plans page, view your packages on the Active Resource Plans, Fully Used Resource Plans, or Expired Resource Plans tabs.
Costs and expenses
Go to Costs & Expenses - Resource Packages and select the Resource Packages dimension to view details about your purchased traffic packages, such as deduction history, expiration dates, and remaining quotas.
Deduction ratios
Each 1 GB of traffic in your ESA traffic package offsets traffic across editions at the following ratios:

For example, each 1 GB of traffic in your package can offset 1 GB of Basic Edition traffic, 2 GB of package traffic is required to offset 1 GB of Standard Edition traffic, and 4 GB of package traffic is required to offset 1 GB of Advanced Edition traffic.

Effective scope: The deduction scope of traffic packages has been expanded from the Basic Edition to include the Standard Edition and Advanced Edition. Both new and existing resource packages support proportional deductions.

You can view usage details including deduction ratios for different editions.

Go to the Costs & Expenses - Resource Packages console.

Select the Resource Packages dimension, then filter usage details by start time and instance ID based on the resource instance you want to view.
All-edition post-paid deduction package
The ESA Savings Plan, a type of post-paid deduction package, can offset all post-paid items across the Basic, Standard, and Advanced Editions. This includes:

Post-paid fees for traffic that exceeds your plan's quota

Intelligent routing request fees

Fees for the paid version of Edge Functions

Edge Storage KV request and storage fees
The minimum committed spend for a post-paid deduction package is CNY 10. The validity period is flexible, but a one-year term is recommended. The higher the committed spend in a single purchase, the greater the discount you receive.
Deduction packages can also offset post-paid bills for traffic and requests from CDN services that use hourly billing. If you have an existing CDN resource package, it is used for deductions first. Purchase a deduction package only after your existing resource packages are consumed.
Discounts for different committed spend tiers
When you purchase a post-paid deduction package, your post-paid items are discounted based on your purchased committed spend. The discounted cost of your post-paid items is then deducted from your committed spend balance. The discounts are as follows:
The committed spend you purchase in a Savings Plan is non-refundable and expires at the end of its validity period. Choose a suitable committed spend amount and validity period based on your business needs.

Committed spend
The minimum amount is CNY 10. The purchase amount must be in multiples of 10.
Payment option
Full Upfront: Pay the entire amount at the time of purchase.
Validity period

1 Year: The Savings Plan is valid for one year and expires at the end of the term.

1 Month: The Savings Plan is valid for one month and expires at the end of the term. Use this option during promotional periods.
Start time

Effective Immediately: The Savings Plan takes effect immediately after payment.

Scheduled Time (Hourly): The Savings Plan takes effect at the selected hour.

Background: Customer A, a small internet company, uses ESA to optimize the performance and security of its online services. Its business usage is stable. After reviewing its bills, Customer A finds that its monthly costs for post-paid items (such as intelligent routing requests and Edge Functions calls) are approximately CNY 1,500. To receive discounts and lower long-term costs, Customer A decides to purchase an Edge Security Accelerator post-paid deduction package.

Purchase decision: Customer A's annual cost is CNY 18,000 (CNY 1,500/month × 12 months). This falls into the discount tier of
Over CNY 5,000 to CNY 20,000 (inclusive), qualifying for a 20% discount. Based on this discount, Customer A purchases a post-paid deduction package for CNY 14,400 (CNY 18,000 × 0.8) with a one-year validity period. -
Savings: The estimated annual savings are: CNY 18,000 - CNY 14,400 = CNY 3,600.
