Rules let you filter specific user requests to control cache reserve behavior. For example, you can bypass cache reserve for high-hit-rate resources to conserve storage, or enable cache reserve for specific requests to reduce origin server load.

Prerequisites

  • Upgraded to the Enterprise plan.

  • Cache reserve is enabled and a cache reserve instance is purchased. For more information, see Cache reserve.

Procedure

  1. In the ESA console, choose Website Management, and click the target website in the Website column.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Rules > Cache Rules.

  3. Click Create Rule and enter a Rule Name.

  4. In the If requests match... section, set the match conditions. For more information about how to configure a rule, see Rule expression components.

  5. In the Cache Eligibility section, specify whether to bypass cache. For more information, see Cache eligibility.

  6. In the Cache Reserve Eligibility section, click Settings and select a cache reserve policy.

    • Bypass Cache Reserve: Matching requests bypass cache reserve and are sent directly to the origin server.

    • Eligible for Cache Reserve: Directs matching requests to cache reserve, reducing the number of origin requests.

  7. Click OK.
