This topic answers frequently asked questions about peripherals for personal edition cloud computers.

Contents

General

Supported USB peripherals

Cloud computers provide a USB redirection feature that supports a wide range of devices, such as printers, USB flash drives, drawing tablets, and webcams.

Keyboards, mice, and game controllers

Erratic mouse cursor

Enable the capture cursor feature in the cloud computer to use the mouse normally.

  1. Connect to your cloud computer.

  2. On the cloud computer desktop, click the floating ball and select Manage.

  3. Go to Manage > Preferences > Controls and enable cursor capture. When enabled, the cursor is confined to the cloud computer window, which ensures that in-game camera rotation works as expected.

Abnormal external mouse behavior on iPad

Symptoms

  • Pointer style: The mouse pointer in the cloud computer overlaps with the native iPadOS pointer, which appears as a semi-transparent gray circle.

  • Excel operation issues:

    • You cannot select multiple columns with the mouse.

    • After selecting a single column, you cannot select a cell in that column with a single left-click. You must double-click to select it.

Cause

This occurs because the Perform Touch Gestures feature is enabled on the iPad. As a result, the native iPadOS pointer cannot be hidden within the cloud computer, causing the two pointers to overlap. When this feature is enabled, mouse operations are mapped to touch actions. This causes operational issues in Excel and other applications.

Solution

Follow these steps to turn off Perform Touch Gestures.

  1. On your iPad, open the Settings app.

  2. Go to Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch, and then turn off Perform Touch Gestures.

Game controller not recognized

If your game controller is not working, follow these troubleshooting steps:

Step

Resolution

A

Verify that your Wuying client type supports game controllers.

Supported Wuying client types include:

  • Windows client

  • macOS client

  • Android client

  • Wuying Box

Other types of Wuying clients do not support game controllers.

If your current Wuying client does not support game controllers, go to the Wuying Client Download page to download a supported client, or switch to a supported hardware terminal.

B

Verify that your Wuying client version supports game controllers.

Version requirements:

  • Windows client/macOS client: V7.5 or later.

  • Android client: V7.4 or later.

  • Wuying Box: V7.5.2 or later.

If your Wuying client is outdated, update the client. For more information, see Upgrade the client.

C

Verify that your game controller is on the list of supported models:

  • GameSir T4n Lite

  • Sony PS5

  • Sony PS4

  • Betop Spartan 3

  • ThundeRobot G50S (Pro-HD)

  • Flydigi Direwolf 2

  • Machenike G5Pro Max Play Edition

  • ThundeRobot G30

  • Mopai Red-Hare PRO-HD

  • Xbox One Controller

  • 8BitDo

  • Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

  • Flydigi Vader 4 Pro

If your game controller is not on the supported list, switch to a supported model.

E

Verify that the game controller is correctly connected to your local device.

Windows

  1. Press Win+R to open the Run window.

  2. In the Run window, enter control printers and click OK.

  3. In the Devices and Printers window, right-click the game controller icon and select Game Controller Settings.

  4. On the Test tab, check whether the game controller buttons are working correctly.

macOS

Open System Settings, find the Game Controllers option, and verify that the game controller is connected.

  • If the game controller is not detected, it may be connected improperly. Disconnect the cable and try reconnecting it.

  • If reconnecting multiple times fails, the cable may be damaged. Replace the cable.

  • If the game controller is connected but the buttons do not work on the Test tab, the controller may be damaged. Replace the game controller.

F

If the previous steps do not resolve the issue and you are using a USB connection, check if the game controller is disabled in the USB peripheral list:

  1. Select an entry point based on your logon status:

    • Before you log on: In the upper-right corner of the client logon page, click the icon and select Settings.

    • After you log on: In the upper-right corner of the cloud resource list page, click the icon and select Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, click Peripherals.

  3. In the Local USB Peripheral List, find the game controller device. If the record is editable, the game controller is not disabled.

Try resetting the game controller's status in the client:

  1. In the Local USB Peripheral List, select the game controller and click Disable. The button will change to Enable.

  2. Disconnect and reconnect the game controller.

  3. After reconnecting to the cloud computer, verify that it recognizes the game controller and that the controller functions correctly.

USB flash drives and UKeys

Using UKey devices

Common USB UKey devices fall into three categories: HID, MASSSTORAGE, and composite (HID and MASSSTORAGE). This section describes how to use each type of UKey device with a cloud computer.

  • HID-type UKey devices

HID-type UKey devices use USB redirection by default in a cloud computer and should work without any extra configuration.

For some UKey devices, the cloud computer may not be able to retrieve the device name. Such devices might be on the blocklist by default. This means the device will not appear in the peripheral management list in the cloud computer. In this case, you need to add the device to the allowlist as described below.

    Note

The following steps use the Windows client v6.0 as an example. The actual UI may vary depending on your client and its version.

    1. On the card display page of the Windows client, click the 个人中心logo.png icon and select Settings.

    2. In the Preference Settings panel, select Peripheral Management.

    3. In the Local Peripherals section, find the device and in the USB Redirection Allowlist/Blocklist Settings column, select Allowlist.

    4. Disconnect and reconnect the UKey device, or reconnect to the cloud computer.

  • MASSSTORAGE and composite HID and MASSSTORAGE UKey devices

For MASSSTORAGE and composite (HID and MASSSTORAGE) UKey devices, the system cannot distinguish them from other storage devices by their appearance. Therefore, by default, these UKey devices use device redirection, just like other storage devices. However, UKey devices will not function correctly with device redirection. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

    1. In the cloud computer, activate the floating ball and click Peripherals.

    2. In the Peripherals dialog box, click Advanced Peripheral Management.

    3. In the Advanced Peripheral Management dialog box, click Unknown Device Type.

    4. Find the corresponding UKey device and select USB Redirection.

    5. Disconnect and reconnect the UKey device.

UKey not in peripheral list

Symptoms

USB redirection is enabled in the console, but after you insert a UKey device, it does not appear in the cloud computer's peripheral list.

Cause

The cloud computer may be unable to retrieve the names of some UKey devices. These devices might be on the blocklist by default. Blocklisted devices do not appear in the peripheral list.

Resolution

  1. On the client's card display page, click the 个人中心logo.png icon and select Settings.

  2. In the Preference Settings panel, select Peripheral Management.

  3. In the peripheral management settings, find the device and add it to the allowlist.

  4. Disconnect and reconnect the device, or reconnect to the cloud computer.

UKey listed but unusable

If USB redirection is enabled in the console and an inserted UKey device appears in the peripherals list as available but does not work in the cloud computer, you can try the following solutions:

  • Change the UKey device's redirection mode to USB redirection.

    1. In the cloud computer, open the DesktopAssistant and click Peripherals.

    2. In the Peripherals dialog box, click Advanced Peripheral Settings.

    3. In the Advanced Peripheral Settings dialog box, click Unknown Device.

    4. Find the corresponding UKey device and select USB Redirection.

    5. Unplug and replug the UKey device.

  • Install the required driver.

For many UKey devices to function correctly after being connected via USB redirection, you must install a corresponding driver on the cloud computer. If the UKey device appears in the peripherals list but is unusable, you must install its corresponding driver.
