Sign in to and configure EDS Personal clients

You can use EDS Personal clients to access your personal cloud computers. This topic describes how to sign in to and configure EDS Personal clients.

Download and install a client

Download the client that matches your device type and operating system. Download page: Alibaba Cloud Workspace client downloads

You can also access your cloud computer directly from a browser without installing a client. Web client: https://wuying.aliyun.com

Get to know the client interface

Windows client/macOS client/Web client

Important

The following examples use macOS client version 8.5.3. If your experience differs from what is described here, you may be using a different client type or an outdated version. We recommend upgrading to the latest version.

SMS sign-in page

  1. Select the client edition. You can switch between Personal Edition and Enterprise Edition & Business Edition.

    Important

    Make sure you select the correct edition. Cloud computer resources are isolated between editions.

  2. Enter your phone number and SMS verification code. A new phone number automatically registers a new account.

  3. Switch the sign-in method.

  4. Access additional options:

    • Settings: Opens the settings window.

    • Help: Opens the online documentation.

    • Feedback: Submits product suggestions or feedback.

    • About: Shows the current version and checks for updates.

You can scan the QR code to sign in using the WUYING iOS client, WUYING Android client, Alipay, or WeChat.

Cloud computer list

  1. Cloud computer card. You can perform common operations on the card, such as starting, shutting down, or restarting the cloud computer.

  2. Switch the view.

  3. Quick access to common features, such as image management.

  4. Profile. View your account information, access settings, and more.

  5. View your WUYING Lingdou balance or purchase WUYING Lingdou packages.

  6. Subscribe to cloud computer plans, WUYING Lingdou packages, hardware terminals, and more.

  7. Redeem a cloud computer with a redemption code.

  8. Refresh the cloud computer list.

  9. Notification center. View various notifications.

  10. Quick sign-out.

The Profile section provides quick access to various features, such as order management and settings.

The notification center contains three types of messages: marketing activities, administrative messages, and system messages.

iOS client/Android client

Important

The following examples use the Alipay Mini Program. If your experience differs from what is described here, you may be using a different client type.

Search for the WUYING Cloud Computer mini program in Alipay or WeChat, and use your phone number to quickly register or sign in.

The Me section provides access to various features, such as account and security, WUYING Lingdou usage details, order management, and subscription management.

Sign in and connect

Sign in

Windows client/macOS client/Web client

Open the Personal Edition client and choose one of the following sign-in methods:

  • SMS sign-in: Enter your phone number and verification code to sign in. A new phone number automatically registers a new account.

  • QR code sign-in: Scan the QR code using the WUYING iOS client, WUYING Android client, Alipay, or WeChat.

iOS client/Android client

Open the Personal Edition client and choose one of the following sign-in methods:

  • Alipay quick sign-in: You are redirected to Alipay for one-tap sign-in.

  • SMS sign-in: Enter your phone number and verification code to sign in. A new phone number automatically registers a new account.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

  1. Open the WUYING Cloud Computer mini program.

  2. On the Sign In page, agree to the terms and tap Quick Sign-in with Phone Number.

  3. In the Phone Number Authorization dialog box, tap Confirm.

  4. On the Account Binding page, select the Alibaba Cloud account you want to bind and tap Confirm Binding.

Sign out

Windows client/macOS client/Web client

On the cloud computer list page, choose one of the following methods to sign out:

  • Click Sign Out in the upper-left corner, and click Sign Out again in the confirmation dialog box.

  • Click the avatar in the lower-left corner, click Sign Out, and click Sign Out again in the confirmation dialog box.

iOS client/Android client

  1. On the Me tab, tap the account avatar.

  2. On the Account Information page, tap Sign Out.

  3. In the confirmation dialog box, tap OK.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

  1. At the top of the Me tab, tap the account avatar.

  2. At the bottom of the Account & Security page, tap Sign Out and Switch Account, and tap OK in the confirmation dialog box.

Connect to a cloud computer

On the cloud computer list page, click the connect icon on a cloud computer card to start using it.

If the cloud computer is in the Stopped or Hibernated state, start or wake it up first.

Network and peripherals

Check the network

Windows client/macOS client

You can use the built-in network diagnostics tool to check the network.

  1. Go to the entry point based on your sign-in status:

    • Before sign-in: In the upper-right corner of the sign-in page, click the icon and select Settings.

    • After sign-in: In the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click your avatar and select Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, choose Network > Basic Detection.

  3. Click Start Detection. You can then view the detection results.

Web client

Network diagnostics is not supported.

iOS client/Android client

Network diagnostics is not supported.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

Network diagnostics is not supported.

Configure a network proxy

Windows client/macOS client

  1. Go to the entry point based on your sign-in status:

    • Before sign-in: In the upper-right corner of the sign-in page, click the icon and select Settings.

    • After sign-in: In the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click your avatar and select Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, choose Network > Network Proxy.

  3. Turn on the proxy service and follow the on-screen instructions to configure the network proxy.

    Note

    HTTP proxies and SOCKS proxies are supported.

Web client

Proxy configuration is not supported.

iOS client/Android client

Proxy configuration is not supported.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

Proxy configuration is not supported.

Manage USB peripherals

Windows client/macOS client

After you connect a USB device such as an audio/video device, storage device, or printer, you can view basic device information including the name, type, VID (Vendor ID), and PID (Product ID), and configure the redirection mode and application mode for the peripheral.

  1. Go to the entry point based on your sign-in status:

    • Before sign-in: In the upper-right corner of the sign-in page, click the icon and select Settings.

    • After sign-in: In the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click your avatar and select Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, click Peripherals.

  3. On the Local USB Peripherals page, perform the following operations as needed:

    • Enable or disable a USB peripheral: Use the toggle next to the target peripheral.

    • Set the redirection mode

      After you enable a USB peripheral, you can set its redirection mode:

      • Device Redirection: Prioritizes performance. For example, data transfer speeds are improved. You do not need to install the peripheral driver on the cloud computer.

      • USB Port Redirection: Prioritizes peripheral compatibility. You may need to install the peripheral driver on the cloud computer.

    • Set the application mode (cameras only): You can set a camera-type peripheral to Camera Mode or Document Camera Mode.

Web client

USB peripheral management is not supported.

iOS client/Android client

USB peripheral management is not supported.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

USB peripheral management is not supported.

Authorize the WUYING peripheral service

On macOS client, you must authorize the WUYING peripheral service to run as an administrator before cloud computers can automatically detect and connect to USB security key devices plugged into your Mac.

Prerequisites

  • macOS client V7.10 or later is used.

  • The cloud computer image is upgraded to V2.8.1 or later.

Procedure

  1. Go to the entry point based on your sign-in status:

    • Before sign-in: In the upper-right corner of the sign-in page, click the icon and select Settings.

    • After sign-in: In the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click your avatar and select Settings.

  2. In the Settings window, click Peripherals.

  3. Turn on the Authorize WUYING peripheral service to run as administrator toggle.

    Note

    The setting takes effect immediately. You do not need to restart the client or reconnect to the cloud computer.

    Important

    To use a local camera or USB flash drive on a cloud computer, you must first turn off this toggle and restart the client.

View and settings

View account information

Windows client/macOS client/Web client

  1. After you sign in, in the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click your avatar and then click your username.

  2. In the Account Information dialog box, view your account information.

    Note

    You can unlink your account from Alipay or WeChat in this dialog box.

iOS client/Android client

  1. On the Me tab, tap your avatar.

  2. On the Account Information page, view your account information.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

  1. Open the WUYING Cloud Computer mini program.

  2. At the top of the Me tab, tap your avatar.

  3. On the Account & Security page, view your account information.

View notifications

Windows client/macOS client/Web client

After you sign in, in the upper-right corner of the cloud computer list, click the icon to view all notifications for your account. Notifications in the Notification Center are classified into the following three categories:

  • Promotions: Displays information about product-related marketing events.

  • Admin Messages: Displays resource-related information, such as low WUYING Lingdou balance alerts and automatic shutdown reminders for cloud computers.

  • System Messages: Displays messages related to cloud computer system settings and feature upgrades.

At the bottom of the notification panel, click Mark All as Read to mark all messages as read, or click Clear Messages to remove all messages from the list.

iOS client/Android client

Viewing notifications is not supported.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

Viewing notifications is not supported.

Update the client

Windows client/macOS client

  1. Go to the entry point based on your sign-in status:

    • Before sign-in: In the upper-right corner of the sign-in page, click the icon and select About.

    • After sign-in: In the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click your avatar and select About.

  2. View the current version number. You can click Check for Updates to check whether a new version is available.

Web client

No manual update is required.

iOS client/Android client

You can view the current client version number and check whether an update is available.

  1. At the bottom of the Me tab, tap About. If a new version is available, a badge appears next to About: image

  2. On the About page, view the current version number. Tap Check for New Version to check whether a new version is available.

Alipay Mini Program/WeChat Mini Program

No manual update is required.

Feedback

Windows client/macOS client/Web client

In the lower-left corner of the cloud computer list, click Help & Feedback:

  • Click Submit Feedback, enter your suggestions or feedback in the window, and click Submit.

    Note

    You can select Upload local logs to help support engineers better analyze and locate issues.

  • Click Customer Service and sign in with your Alibaba Cloud account on the website that opens to consult customer service.

iOS client/Android client

  • On the Me tab, tap Feedback & Suggestions.

    Enter your suggestions or feedback in the window and tap Submit.

    Note

    You can select Upload local logs to help support engineers better analyze and locate issues.

  • On the Me tab, tap Customer Service and sign in with your Alibaba Cloud account on the website that opens to consult customer service.
