Manage Manager Agent

The Manager Agent is a service that connects StarRocks Manager to an instance. By default, it is deployed on the frontend (FE). If your FE is under heavy load or you require higher stability for StarRocks Manager, you can activate the Manager Agent on dedicated resources.

Notes

  • This service cannot be disabled once activated.

  • Manager Agent resources are billed based on compute units (CUs). For pricing details, see Billable Items.

  • During Manager Agent activation, StarRocks Manager is temporarily unavailable. It resumes normal operation after activation is complete.

Activate Manager Agent

During instance creation

  1. Go to the E-MapReduce Serverless StarRocks instance list page.

    1. Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

    2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose EMR Serverless > StarRocks.

    3. In the top menu bar, select the required region.

  2. On the Instances page, click Create Instance.

  3. On the E-MapReduce Serverless StarRocks page, in the Advanced Settings section, turn on the Activate Manager Agent switch.

    You can select a compute unit (CU) specification. For more information about creating an instance, see Create Instance.

For an existing instance

  1. Go to the EMR Serverless StarRocks Instance Details page.

    1. Log on to the E-MapReduce console.

    2. In the left navigation pane, choose EMR Serverless > StarRocks.

    3. In the top menu bar, select a region.

    4. Click the name of the target instance.

  2. On the Instance Details page, in the Manager Agent section, click Activate.

  3. In the Activate Manager Agent dialog box, select the Specifications, select the Terms of Service checkbox, and then click OK.

  4. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.

    Important

    This service cannot be disabled once activated.

Upgrade Manager Agent

  1. On the Instance Details page, in the Manager Agent section, click Upgrade.

  2. Select the Specifications, select the Terms of Service checkbox, and then click OK.
