Edge Multi-point Network (EPN) charges access bandwidth fees for the bandwidth used by each access point in an EPN instance.

Billing rules

Definition

Access bandwidth fees are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis for a fixed bandwidth. The fees are calculated daily and billed monthly. The following table describes the billing rules.

Billable item

Definition

Access bandwidth

The bandwidth of each access point in an EPN instance. For a port-based access point, this is the bandwidth limit of the Edge Virtual Border Router (EVBR). For an Edge Node Service (ENS) access point, this is the bandwidth limit of the ENS gateway (ENSGW).

Access bandwidth pricing

The geographic location of access points in an EPN instance affects the pricing tier:

  • Intra-data center connection: All access points, including port-based and ENS access points, in the EPN instance are located in the same data center.

  • Intra-city connection: At least two access points, including port-based and ENS access points, in the EPN instance are located in different data centers within the same city.

  • Inter-city connection: At least two access points, including port-based and ENS access points, in the EPN instance are located in different cities within the Chinese mainland.

  • Metropolitan area network connection outside the Chinese mainland: At least two access points, including port-based and ENS access points, in the EPN instance are located in different cities outside the Chinese mainland. The specific pricing tier depends on the cities where the access points are located.

In this scenario, you connect to an EPN instance through an edge access port and line. The Edge Virtual Border Router (EVBR) bandwidth is 100 Mbps. You also create an Edge Node Service Gateway (ENSGW) in an ENS node within the same data center to connect to the EPN instance. The ENSGW bandwidth is 100 Mbps. The billing details are as follows:

In this scenario, you perform the following operations in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shijiazhuang:

  • In Beijing, you connect to the EPN instance through a shared cloud connection interface. The EVBR bandwidth is 200 Mbps.

  • In Shanghai, you connect to the EPN instance through an edge access port and line. The EVBR bandwidth is 100 Mbps.

  • In Shijiazhuang, you add an ENS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to the EPN instance. The ENSGW bandwidth is 100 Mbps.

200 + 100 + 100 = 400 Mbps

In this scenario, you add ENS VPCs to an EPN instance using ENSGWs in four locations: China (Hong Kong), Singapore, Indonesia, and Brazil.

  • The ENSGW bandwidth in China (Hong Kong) is 100 Mbps.

  • The ENSGW bandwidth in Singapore is 100 Mbps.

  • The ENSGW bandwidth in Indonesia is 50 Mbps.

  • The ENSGW bandwidth in Brazil is 10 Mbps.

Asia-Pacific 1

100 + 100 = 200 Mbps

200 Mbps × CNY 1/Mbps = CNY 200/day

50 Mbps × CNY 4/Mbps = CNY 200/day

CNY 200/day × 30 days = CNY 6,000

South America 1

In this scenario, you add ENS VPCs to an EPN instance using ENSGWs in four locations: China (Hong Kong), Singapore, Indonesia, and Brazil.

  • From Day 1 to Day 15 of the month:

    • The ENSGW bandwidth in China (Hong Kong) is 100 Mbps.

    • The ENSGW bandwidth in Singapore is 100 Mbps.

    • The ENSGW bandwidth in Indonesia is 50 Mbps.

    • The ENSGW bandwidth in Brazil is 10 Mbps.

  • From Day 16 to Day 30 of the month:

    • The bandwidth of the ENSGW in China (Hong Kong) is changed to 200 Mbps.

    • The bandwidth of the ENSGW in Singapore is changed to 200 Mbps.

    • The bandwidth of the ENSGW in Indonesia remains 50 Mbps.

    • The bandwidth of the ENSGW in Brazil is changed to 20 Mbps.
