Instances are billed by computing resources (vCPUs and memory). Pay-as-you-go and subscription billing are supported.

Billing methods

The following table compares the supported billing methods.

Billing method

Description

Scenario

Pay-as-you-go

Post-paid.

Bills are generated each billing cycle and fees are deducted from your account.

  • Short-term, bursty, variable, or unpredictable workloads.

  • Resources need to be created and released on demand.

Subscription

Pre-paid.

Pay upfront before using resources.

  • Resource usage duration is predictable.

  • Resource usage is stable.

  • Long-term resource usage is required.

Billing example

Note
  • Prices cover instance specifications only and exclude storage, bandwidth, and other fees.

Example: You create a Compute-optimized 4C8G instance in mainland China for 12 months. Fees by billing method:

  • Pay-as-you-go (monthly peak billing)

    • Monthly instance specification fee = Peak vCPU count for the month (4 vCPUs) × Monthly vCPU price (65 CNY) × Effective factor (1) + Peak memory for the month (8 GB) × Monthly memory price (20 CNY) × Effective factor (1) = 420 CNY

    • 12-month instance specification fee = 420 × 12 = 5,040 CNY

  • Subscription

    • The monthly price for a Compute-optimized 4C8G instance is 412 CNY. Annual price = Monthly price × 12 × 0.85

    • 12-month instance specification fee = 412 × 12 × 0.85 = 4,202.4 CNY
