Terms of data migration
Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch provides the data migration service to migrate data stored on data nodes before you scale in the data nodes in an Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch cluster. Before you use the data migration service, make sure that you understand the entire process and potential consequences, and that you have read and agree to the terms of data migration.
Data migration may fail due to cluster health issues, data storage status on source nodes, or network instability. A failed or interrupted migration may result in data loss or inconsistent data between source and destination nodes.
The data migration process may be affected by cluster status, the data storage status on source nodes, and other factors inherent to Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch clusters, data node features, and network instability. If the cluster is unhealthy or the migration is interrupted, the service may fail, resulting in data loss or data inconsistency between source and destination nodes.
Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch provides the cluster scale-in service solely for downgrading data nodes. Alibaba Cloud is not responsible for any issues that occur during the data migration process, such as migration interruptions, failures, or data inconsistency. You are solely responsible for the data migration operation and all consequences that result from it.
Before scaling in data nodes, learn the entire data migration process and make sure all prerequisites are met. Put solutions in place to prevent data loss, including but not limited to creating a data backup. Do not delete the backup until the migration is complete and data on the source and destination nodes are confirmed consistent.
