Manage alert contact groups

An alert contact group contains one or more alert contacts. A single contact can belong to multiple alert contact groups. When you configure an alert rule, you can select an alert contact group to send alert notifications to all contacts in the group. This topic describes how to add, view, modify, disable, and enable alert contact groups.

Add a contact group

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch console.

  2. In the navigation pane on the left, click Advanced Monitoring and Alerting.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Alert Module > Contact Management.

  4. On the Contact Management page, click the Contact Groups tab.
  5. Click Add Contact Group.
  6. In the Add Contact Group dialog box, enter the group information.

    Contact Group NameThe name must be 1 to 30 characters long. It must start with a letter or a digit. It can contain underscores (_) and hyphens (-). The Contact Group Name must be unique and cannot be changed after creation.
    RemarksEnter a meaningful description to help you quickly find the group.
    ContactsSelect one or more contacts to add to the group. If you do not have any contacts, create one first. For more information, see Add a contact.
  7. Click OK.

View or modify contact group information

  1. On the Contact Groups tab, find the contact group that you want to manage and click View/Modify in the Actions column.
  2. On the Update Contact Group page, view or modify the group information.
    Note To prevent a contact from receiving alert notifications, remove the contact from the group.
  3. Click OK.

Disable or enable a contact group

  1. Disable a contact group.
    1. On the Contact Groups tab, find the contact group that you want to disable and click Disable in the Actions column.
      Important
      • You can disable a contact group only if its status is Enabled.
      • You cannot delete contact groups. If you do not want any contacts in a group to receive alert notifications, you can disable the group. To stop sending alert notifications to only specific contacts in a group, modify the group information.
    2. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
    disabled, its Status changes to Disabled. All contacts in the group will no longer receive alert notifications. To enable the group again, proceed to the next step.
  2. Enable a contact group.
    1. On the Contact Groups tab, find the contact group that you want to enable and click Enable in the Actions column.
    2. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
    enabled, its Status changes to Enabled. All contacts in the group will resume receiving alert notifications.
