Subscription
The subscription billing method allows you to use resources only after you pay for them. This billing method is suitable for business that has long-term and predictable resource needs. This topic describes the billing rules for the subscription billing method, including the billing cycle and unit prices in different regions.

Billing cycle |
The billing cycle is the subscription duration measured based on the UTC+8:00 time zone. The billing cycle starts when the subscription is created or renewed and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date. The start time is accurate to the second. |

Resource availability |
The impact of an expired subscription on the resource availability in a workspace varies based on the time elapsed since the expiration. For more information, see the Resource availability for an expired subscription section of this topic. |

Renewal policy |
To continue using your subscription workspace after it expires, renew your subscription. For more information, see Renewals. Note

Refund policy |
The subscription billing method requires an upfront payment. If you no longer require a workspace due to business requirement changes, you can Billing & Cost to cancel the subscription and apply for a refund. For information about the refund operations and rules, see Refund policy. |

Resource scaling |
After you create a subscription workspace, you can modify its resource configurations. For more information, see Reconfigure resources. |
Unit prices in different regions

The subscription billing method is more fee-effective if the subscription duration is longer than one year.

The China (Zhangjiakou) region and Zone H of the China (Hangzhou) region currently only support scaling existing resources. You can purchase new resources in other regions and zones. For information about the most recent list of supported regions and zones, see the buy page.

The unit price for cross-zone computing resources is higher than that for single-zone resources because of data synchronization and cross-zone communication overhead. For more information, see the following unit price tables and Billing examples.

Resource availability for an expired subscription
A subscription workspace has a validity period based on the subscription duration that you specify when you purchase the workspace. If the subscription expires and you do not renew it in a timely manner, the workspace resources are automatically released. The following figure shows the different stages of a workspace that has an expired subscription and the recommended actions.

Billing examples
The actual price on the buy page prevails.
Take the Beijing region as an example. Create a workspace (Intel X86 architecture) with 10 CUs of computing resources and a subscription duration of 6 months. The fees for different deployment modes are as follows:

All 10 CUs use the single-zone deployment mode
In the Beijing region, the unit price is CNY 180 per CU-month for both single-zone management resources and computing resources.
Required fee = Management resource fee + Computing resource fee =
2 CUs × CNY 180/CU-month × 6 months + 10 CUs × CNY 180/CU-month × 6 months = 2160 + 10800 = CNY 12960. -
All 10 CUs use the cross-zone deployment mode
In the Beijing region, the management resource unit price is CNY 180 per CU-month, and the cross-zone computing resource unit price is CNY 252 per CU-month.
Required fee = Management resource fee + Computing resource fee =
2 CUs × CNY 180/CU-month × 6 months + 10 CUs × CNY 252/CU-month × 6 months = 2160 + 15120 = CNY 17280. -
2 CUs use the single-zone deployment mode, and 8 CUs use the cross-zone deployment mode
In the Beijing region, the management resource unit price is CNY 180 per CU-month. The single-zone computing resource unit price is CNY 180 per CU-month, and the cross-zone computing resource unit price is CNY 252 per CU-month.
Required fee = Management resource fee + Single-zone namespace computing resource fee + Cross-zone namespace computing resource fee =
2 CUs × CNY 180/CU-month × 6 months + 2 CUs × CNY 180/CU-month × 6 months + 8 CUs × CNY 252/CU-month × 6 months = 2160 + 2160 + 12096 = CNY 16416.
