Add and manage endpoint groups and endpoints
Add an endpoint group and endpoints to a basic Global Accelerator instance to route client requests to your backend services.
Background
Each endpoint group is associated with a specific region. A basic Global Accelerator instance distributes traffic to the endpoints in an endpoint group by region.
The following table lists the backend service types supported by basic Global Accelerator instance endpoints.
|
Deployment location |
Network connection type |
Backend service type |
Backend service |
|
Alibaba Cloud |
Private connection |
ENI |
elastic network interface (ENI) Only secondary ENIs are supported. |
|
CLB |
CLB instance Only CLB instances in a VPC are supported. |
||
|
NLB |
NLB instance Only internal-facing NLB instances are supported. |
||
|
ECS |
Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance |
Limitations
-
Each basic GA instance supports one endpoint group with up to 200 endpoints by default.
To add more endpoints, increase the gaplus_quota_basic_endpoint_limit quota on the Quota Management page. Manage GA quotas.
-
Supported endpoint types: secondary ENIs, CLB instances in VPCs, internal-facing NLB instances, and Elastic Compute Service instances. ENIs, CLB instances, NLB instances, and ECS instances cannot be associated with EIPs or static public IP addresses.
-
Basic GA instances created after August 1, 2023 support the use of multiple accelerated IP addresses in an acceleration region and private Network Load Balancer (NLB) endpoints. If your basic GA instance was created before this date and you want to use these features, contact your business manager to upgrade the instance.
-
If your Global Accelerator instances were created before August 1, 2023, the following limits apply:
-
Each GA instance supports only one acceleration area and one acceleration region.
-
Each GA instance supports only one endpoint group and one endpoint.
-
You cannot specify an NLB instance as an endpoint.
-
You do not need to add or associate accelerated IP addresses with endpoints.
-
Prerequisites
-
You have created a basic Global Accelerator instance. For more information, see Create a basic GA instance.
-
For subscription-based GA instances, you must have purchased and associated a basic bandwidth plan.
-
Backend applications are deployed to process requests forwarded from Global Accelerator. For more information about how to create different types of backend services, see the following topics:
-
If your basic Global Accelerator instance is pay-as-you-go and your service requires cross-border acceleration between regions in the Chinese mainland and other regions (including China (Hong Kong), China (Macao), and China (Taiwan)), you must complete cross-border compliance certification. Otherwise, you cannot configure the endpoint group. To apply for the China Unicom cross-border business qualification, submit your information on the China Unicom Cross-border Cloud Private Line Online Application page.
NoteStandard Global Accelerator instances support one-stop configuration of instances, acceleration areas, listeners, and endpoint groups. If your service requires cross-border acceleration between regions in the Chinese mainland and other regions (including China (Hong Kong), China (Macao), and China (Taiwan)), you can select a network type based on your needs:
Premium Bandwidth For Cross-border Acceleration: uses premium BGP lines to accelerate connections between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), or other countries and regions.
Compared with China Unicom Cross-border Leased Line, this option simplifies the approval process for cross-border services.
China Unicom Cross-border Leased Line: uses China Unicom leased lines to accelerate connections between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Taiwan (China), or other countries and regions.
This option provides better acceleration performance than Premium Bandwidth for Cross-border Acceleration, but you must apply for a qualification for China Unicom cross-border services and complete cross-border compliance certification.
For more information, see Create a pay-as-you-go standard GA instance.

Description
Endpoint Group
Endpoint Group Name
Enter a name for the endpoint group.
Region
Select the region of the endpoint group.
Endpoint
Backend Service
Endpoints are the backend resources that receive and process client requests. Select a backend service type and the backend service instance.
Supported backend service types: ENI, CLB, NLB, and ECS.
Note-
Only CLB instances in a VPC and secondary ENIs are supported as endpoints.
-
ENIs, CLB instances, NLB instances, and ECS instances associated with a public IP address (including EIPs and static public IP addresses) cannot be added as endpoints.
Select Node
Select the private IP address of the backend service as the endpoint.
-
In the Private IP Address column, select the target private IP address.
-
If the backend service type is ENI, you can select the primary or a secondary private IP address of the ENI.
-
If the backend service type is NLB, you can select private IP addresses of the NLB instance across different availability zones.
-
If the backend service type is CLB, you do not need to select a private IP address.
-
If the backend service type is ECS, you can select the primary or a secondary private IP address of the primary ENI of the ECS instance.
-
-
(Optional) In the Node Name (Optional) column, enter a name for the endpoint.
-
(Optional) In the Accelerated IP Address (optional) column, select the accelerated IP address to associate with the endpoint.
If no accelerated IP address is available, click Add Accelerated IP Address on the right. Then, add an accelerated IP address based on your scenario:
-
No idle accelerated IP addresses are available
When a bubble indicates that the IP address is created, click Use IP in the bubble or select the newly added accelerated IP address from the drop-down list.
-
No acceleration area is available
-
In the No acceleration area is available. dialog box, click Add Acceleration Area.
-
In the Add Acceleration Area dialog box, select a Region and an IP Protocol, and then click OK. For more information, see Add an acceleration area.
-
Click Add Accelerated IP Address. When a bubble indicates that the IP address is created, click Use IP in the bubble or select the newly added accelerated IP address from the drop-down list.
-
-
You can click + Add Endpoint to add multiple endpoints.
NoteYou can add up to 20 endpoints at a time on the Add Endpoint page. By default, a basic GA instance can have up to 200 endpoints.
To add more endpoints, increase the gaplus_quota_basic_endpoint_limit quota on the Quota Management page. Manage GA quotas.
-
-
(Conditionally required) If your basic Global Accelerator instance is pay-as-you-go (billed by Pay-By-Data-Transfer) and your service requires cross-border acceleration between the Chinese mainland and other regions, in the Cross-border Acceleration Settings section, read the Compliance Commitments Regarding Cross-border Data Transfers and select Agree to the Preceding Compliance Agreement.
ImportantIf your service requires cross-border acceleration between regions in the Chinese mainland and other regions (including China (Hong Kong), China (Macao), and China (Taiwan)), make sure that you have applied for and been granted the China Unicom cross-border business qualification.
