This topic describes the billing items and billing methods of Hybrid Disaster Recovery (HDR).

Billing methods

Two billing methods are available: subscription and pay-as-you-go.

Billing method

Description

Pay-as-you-go

  • You are billed for the resources that you use.

  • Bills are generated on an hourly basis and payments are settled on a monthly basis.

  • This product is pay-as-you-go by default. If you prefer a subscription, you can purchase a resource plan.

Subscription

  • The subscription billing method is less expensive than the pay-as-you-go billing method.

  • You can purchase multiple resource plans as needed. The resource quotas of multiple resource plans can add up within their validity periods.

  • During the validity periods of resource plans, the resources you use are deducted from the resource plans. When the resource quotas are used up or the resource plans expire, the billing method is automatically converted to pay-as-you-go.

Important

The resource plans take effect immediately after you purchase them and cannot be refunded. If the resources you use exceed the quotas of the resource plans, the additional resources are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis.

  • Continuous replication disaster recovery:

    Shadow Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances for real-time replication and ECS instances deployed for cloud failover. For more information about shadow instances, see What is a shadow instance?

  • Async disk replication:

    New disaster recovery ECS instance costs.

Pricing of EBS disks

  • Continuous replication:

    Elastic Block Storage (EBS) disks that are attached to shadow ECS instances to store real-time replication data.

  • Async disk replication:

    Newly created disaster recovery EBS disks.

ECS Snapshot Fees

  • Continuous replication for disaster recovery:

    The recovery point feature for protected servers creates snapshots of the shadow disks.

    Traffic fees for cross-region disaster recovery on the cloud.
