If your website is hosted on a server in the Chinese mainland, you must complete an ICP filing for its domain name to use Alibaba Cloud WAF for web application security protection. This topic describes the ICP filing requirements for using Alibaba Cloud WAF.
The following scenarios require an ICP filing for your domain name when you use WAF: - Requirement for an ICP filing
If your website is hosted on a server in the Chinese mainland, its domain name, such as www.example.com, must have an ICP filing. When you use WAF to configure security protection, you must select this domain name.
- Adding Alibaba Cloud as a service provider
The domain name must have an existing ICP filing number. You are not required to add Alibaba Cloud to the ICP filing information as a service provider. If you want to add Alibaba Cloud to your ICP filing information, see Add Alibaba Cloud as a service provider.
