You do not need to configure DNS resolution for your website before or during the ICP filing process. The system performs a real-time check when you fill in your website information. For some provinces, you must first disable DNS resolution and then enable it after your ICP filing is approved.
Change a filed website or app domain
Change the domain name for a filed website
According to the numbering rules for non-commercial internet information service filings, you cannot directly change the domain name of a filed website.
You can obtain an ICP filing for the new domain name, and then cancel the ICP filing for the original domain name.
Change the domain name for a filed app
To change the domain name for a filed app, go to the My ICP Filings page, click Modify for the app, and then add or delete the domain name on the App Information page.
Can I use an Alibaba Cloud server only for a subdomain?
If your primary domain name already has an ICP filing but does not use an Alibaba Cloud server, you can still use an Alibaba Cloud server for a subdomain. This is considered an access filing with Alibaba Cloud.
Separate ICP filing for subdomains
Subdomains do not require a separate ICP filing if the primary domain name is already filed.
Can a filed domain use multiple servers?
A filed domain name can resolve to multiple servers. The primary domain name and its subdomains can resolve to the same server or different servers.
ICP filing information exists in another account
When you verify your basic information in the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system, you might see the following message: The ICP filing information already exists under another account. Log on to the original account to continue. To transfer the ICP filing to the current account, log on to the original account and use the ICP filing transfer feature. The following sections explain how to resolve this issue.
This message appears for one of two reasons:

Domain conflict
First, check whether the successfully filed entity information belongs to you. To do this, see How do I query ICP filing information?.
Cause: The domain name has an active ICP filing under another Alibaba Cloud account.
Solution:
If the entity belongs to you: Log on to the correct account and add a new ICP filing.
NoteIf you forgot the Alibaba Cloud account associated with the original ICP filing, see Retrieve an account by using the domain name of the ICP filing.
If you cannot log on to the original account and no longer use the associated security phone number, you can apply for an ICP filing transfer. This moves the ICP filing information from the original account to a new Alibaba Cloud account.
If the entity does not belong to you: You must cancel the ICP filing for this domain name. For more information, see Cancel an ICP filing for another entity or a shell entity. After the ICP filing is canceled, you can submit a first-time ICP filing.
Duplicate ID filing
First, confirm whether you remember the original Alibaba Cloud account associated with the successfully filed ID information.
Cause: This ID number is already associated with an ICP filing under another Alibaba Cloud account. An ID number can be used for ICP filings under only one account.
Solution: Log on to the original account used for the ICP filing, or use a different ID.
NoteIf you forgot the Alibaba Cloud account associated with the ICP filing information, you can use the filed domain name to retrieve the ICP filing account.
ID or domain name already has an ICP filing
Problem description:
After you register a domain name, you enter the ID and domain name information in the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system and click Verify Information. The system displays a message: This ID or domain name already has an ICP filing. The region of the entity must be the same as the region in the successful ICP filing, or you can complete the change with the original service provider and then add a new ICP filing through Alibaba Cloud. You cannot proceed with the ICP filing for the current ID or domain name.
Possible cause:
The domain name or ID has an existing ICP filing with another service provider. When you apply for an access filing with Alibaba Cloud, the region of the entity you entered does not match the region in the existing successful ICP filing.
Solution:
When you apply for an access filing or add a new website with Alibaba Cloud, ensure the entity information you enter matches the information from the existing ICP filing. To view this information, contact the original service provider.
Correcting information during the ICP filing process
Reach the review page through the workflow
During the ICP filing process, if you need to correct information, you can do so on the final review page.
Continue the process to Step 4, Upload Documents.
On the Review ICP Filing Information page, click Edit in the upper-right corner of the section that you want to modify.
The Review ICP Filing Information page contains two sections: Entity information and Website. Both sections have an Edit button in the upper-right corner. The Website section also has a Delete button.
On the corresponding information page, modify the incorrect information and click Save Changes.
After the information is saved, you are returned to the Review ICP Filing Information page. You can check whether the modified information is correct.
Return to the review page
During the ICP filing process, you can use your browser's back button to return to the review page and modify the information.
Click the back button in your browser during the ICP filing process.
The page returns to the Alibaba Cloud ICP filing system at
beian.aliyun.com.On the Review ICP Filing Information page, click Edit in the upper-right corner of the section that you want to modify.

Access for non-filed domains in Chinese mainland?
According to the "Measures for the Administration of Internet Information Services" and the "Measures for the Administration of the Filing of Non-commercial Internet Information Services", websites and other services that resolve to servers in the Chinese mainland must have an ICP filing for public access.
If your domain name resolves to an Alibaba Cloud server in the Chinese mainland and you have not submitted an ICP filing through Alibaba Cloud, directly resolving the domain to an Alibaba Cloud server in the Chinese mainland will be detected by the Alibaba Cloud monitoring system. Access to your website will be blocked, and you will be prompted to complete the ICP filing process first.
To restore access, complete the ICP filing for the domain name immediately. For more information, see ICP filing process.
If your domain name resolves to a server from a different service provider in the Chinese mainland, contact that provider to confirm whether a domain name without an ICP filing can be accessed.
To use an Alibaba Cloud server in the Chinese mainland for your domain name, you must first register an Alibaba Cloud account and purchase an ICP filing-eligible server. Access for non-filed domains outside the Chinese mainland?
If your domain name resolves to a server in regions outside the Chinese mainland, an ICP filing from the MIIT is not required.

Is real-name verification required before ICP filing?
According to the Notice of the MIIT on Regulating the Use of Domain Names for Internet Information Services, internet information service providers must legally own the domain names they use. Therefore, you must complete real-name verification for your domain name before you can apply for an ICP filing.

What should I know about real-name verification?
According to requirements from the MIIT, when you apply for an ICP filing after you complete real-name verification, your real-name verification information must match the entity owner information for the ICP filing. If they do not match, the communications administration will reject your application. For more information, see FAQ about ICP filing rejection.
How to complete real-name verification?
If you purchased the domain name from Alibaba Cloud
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud console to complete the real-name verification process. For more information, see Real-name verification for generic domain names.
If you purchased the domain name from another service provider
Submit the real-name verification application through your domain name provider's system. Contact your provider for details.
ICP filing after real-name verification
You can apply for an ICP filing immediately after completing your domain name's real-name verification.
Check for an Alibaba Cloud ICP filing
A domain name's access status with Alibaba Cloud is confidential. You can only query this information for domain names that you own.
If you are the owner of the ICP filing, you can use the "Query Filed Domains" tool on the ICP Filing home page. Enter the domain name and verify your identity by providing the name or phone number of the entity owner or website administrator. After successful verification, you can view the relevant information.
