Enter entity information
When you apply for an ICP filing, you must provide authentic entity information. The review process verifies this information. This topic describes how to enter your entity information to prevent your application from being rejected.
Before you begin
Since ICP filing requirements vary by province, follow the on-screen prompts when completing your application. You can also review the specific requirements for your province in advance by clicking the corresponding link in ICP Filing Rules for Each Region.
After your ICP filing is successful, if the entity principal's contact information changes, you must promptly update the ICP filing information. This ensures you receive important notifications and reminders, preventing disruptions to your internet information service. See update filing for instructions.

Which situations prevent an applicant from being an ICP filing entity?
The following situations may cause your ICP filing application to be rejected:
-
Internal functional departments: Departments such as school enrollment offices or internal corporate departments that do not have independent legal entity status cannot serve as the ICP filing entity. Use the full registered name of the parent organization and the corresponding certificate instead.
-
Platform names: Names such as "XX Service Platform" that are not registered legal entities cannot serve as the entity, unless government authorization documents or other supporting materials are provided.
-
Entities with abnormal business status: If a sole proprietorship or enterprise has an abnormal business operations status, the ICP filing application is likely to be rejected. Resolve the abnormal business status before submitting your application.
-
Using an individual account for an enterprise website: An individual Alibaba Cloud account can submit an ICP filing for a corporate domain name, but you must select ICP filing application for new websites on the ICP filing console homepage and ensure the entity information is for an enterprise.
-
No business license: Individual filings do not require a business license — a valid ID card is sufficient. Organization filings must provide a valid organization certificate.
