Before you use Information Verification Service, you must activate it. This topic describes how to activate the service and grant permissions to a RAM user.

Prerequisites

You have registered an Alibaba Cloud account. For more information, see Step 1: Create an Alibaba Cloud account.
You have completed enterprise real-name verification. For more information, see Enterprise Real-name Verification.

Activate the service

Go to the Information Verification service activation page.
Read and agree to the service agreement, then click Activate Now.
Important
1. Configuring RAM user permissions
  To enable the Information Verification service using a RAM user, an Alibaba Cloud account must grant the AliyunYundunCloudAuthFullAccess permission to the RAM user.
2. Service independence
  The Alibaba Cloud ID Verification product also offers the ID Verification for Financial Services service. These two services are separate and have different activation portals and APIs. If you activate the incorrect service, calls to the Information Verification API will return a 500 unauthorized error.

Create a dedicated RAM user for access

Create a RAM user:
1. Log on to the RAM console by using your Alibaba Cloud account.
2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Identities > Users.
3. On the Users page, click Create User. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new RAM user. Select the Programmatic access option.
  Note
  The Information Verification console allows you to view API call statistics and details. If this user needs to access the console, also select the Console Access option.
Grant the RAM user permissions to access the service:
1. Find the RAM user and click Add Permissions in the Actions column.
2. In the Select Policy section, search for the AliyunYundunCloudAuthFullAccess policy, select it, and click OK.
  Note
  The AliyunYundunCloudAuthFullAccess permission policy allows a RAM user to perform the following actions:
  - Call APIs.
  - Activate the service.
Create an AccessKey:
1. Click the User Logon Name of the RAM user to open the user details page.
2. On the Authentication tab, find the AccessKey section and click Create AccessKey. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  Important
  - The AccessKey Secret is displayed only once. Save it in a secure location.
  - As a best practice, create an AccessKey only for RAM users who need to call APIs.

Information Verification console

The Information Verification console is the management page for all Information Verification APIs. The console provides the following features:

View API call statistics and details.
Configure Cloud Monitor notifications to manage API security.

A user can access the console only if the console access option was selected when the user was created. Alternatively, on the details page of a Resource Access Management (RAM) user, select the Authentication Management tab. In the Console Logon Management section, enable Console Logon.

To query the call records and details for a specific API, select Query Details in the navigation pane on the left of the console to view the call statistics and details for each API. Alternatively, go to the Call Query page.

FAQ

What do I do if an error occurs when I call the Information Verification API?

Troubleshoot the issue as follows:

Confirm that the Information Verification service is activated for your account. The Information Verification, ID Verification for Financial Services, and Enhanced ID Verification services are separate and their APIs are not compatible. You can visit the Information Verification service activation page to check the activation status.
If you call the API using a RAM account, confirm that the account has the AliyunYundunCloudAuthFullAccess permission.
Check if a network access restriction policy is configured for the AccessKey. If a policy is configured, disable it or add the caller's IP address to the whitelist.

What do I do if the page does not redirect after I click Activate Now or I cannot find the console?

After you activate the Information Verification service, you can access the Information Verification console in one of the following ways:

Go directly to the Information Verification console.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Management Console. In the search bar at the top, search for 'Information Verification' to open the console.
