This topic provides frequently asked questions about the metadata management feature of Intelligent Media Management (IMM).
What is a workflow template?
A workflow template defines the steps of a metadata extraction task in IMM. When you create a project or dataset in IMM, you can specify a workflow template for the project or dataset. When you index files in services such as Object Storage Service (OSS) or Photo and Drive Service based on metadata, IMM uses operators based on the specified workflow template to collect and index metadata.
What workflow templates does IMM provide?
For the workflow template IDs and operators in Intelligent Media Management, see Workflow Templates and Operators.
Does IMM support custom workflow templates?
Support for custom workflow templates is not currently available.
Which has higher priority, the workflow template for a project or the workflow template for a dataset in the project?
The workflow template for a dataset in a project has higher priority than the workflow template for the project. When no workflow template is specified for a dataset, the workflow template for the project applies.
Does a workflow template restrict the use of API operations such as face detection operations?
A workflow template does not impose a limit on your proactive API operation calls to perform actions such as video transcoding, face detection, image scoring, and face clustering. However, these actions may not take effect if no metadata exists in the index.
If I index the same URI multiple times, is the index overwritten?
Yes. Indexing the same URI multiple times within the same dataset overwrites the existing index.
