Auto-renewal policy
Auto-renewal ensures that a device can continue to use ID² services after its ID² authorization expires.
The auto-renewal policy is enabled by default.
After the ID² authorization for a device expires:
If the device calls an ID² service again, it automatically consumes an ID² authorization. This extends the validity period of the device's ID². The new expiration date is calculated by adding the new validity period to the previous expiration date.
If the device no longer calls any ID² services, no ID² authorizations are consumed.
When auto-renewal consumes ID² authorizations:
1. Authorizations assigned to the product are consumed first. If the product has insufficient authorizations, account-level authorizations are consumed.
2. If authorizations have different validity periods, they are consumed in the following order: 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year.
