Device management
The edge appliance management console enables you to connect and manage Internet Protocol Camera (IPC) and Network Video Recorder (NVR) devices that use various communication protocols.
Preparations
Activate the pre-installed basic AI frame applications on the edge appliance. The names of these applications start with AIBox. For more information, see Pre-installed applications.
Obtain the configuration information for the edge appliance and terminal devices on your local network. This information includes IP addresses, communication protocols, and the usernames and passwords for accessing the devices.
Add a device
In the navigation pane on the left, click Device Management.
On the Device Management tab, click Add Device.
Follow the prompts to set the parameters, and then click OK.
The required parameters vary based on the device's Protocol Type. Set the parameters as described in the following table.
Parameter
Description
Node type
The type of terminal device to connect.
Device: A sub-device of a gateway.
Gateway: A directly connected device that can have sub-devices attached.
Device name
The name of the device. It must be 2 to 32 characters long and can contain Chinese characters, letters, digits, and the following special characters: hyphens (-), underscores (_), at signs (@), periods (.), and colons (:).
Protocol Type
The protocol type of the device.
IP
The IP address of the device.
Port
The port number of the device.
Username
The username for accessing the device. The username must be 4 to 32 characters long and can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), colons (:), at signs (@), and periods (.).
Password
Set the username and password for device access. Each value must be 2 to 15 characters long and can contain only letters, numbers, underscores (_), hyphens (-), colons (:), at signs (@), and periods (.).
GB ID
The GB ID used for device communication.
Click OK to add the device.

After the device is added, it appears in the list on the Device Management tab. You can also perform the following operations on an added video device:

Edit
Click Edit to modify the device configuration. For parameter descriptions, see the table in step 4.
Delete
Click Delete to remove the device from the edge appliance.
View Video
This button appears only for IPC devices. Click View Video to watch the live feed from the IPC device's camera.
Sub-devices
This button appears only for NVR devices. Click Sub-devices to view the sub-devices of the NVR.
In the dialog box that appears, move sub-devices from the Available List to the Selected List, and then click OK. This adds the selected sub-devices to the Device List in the edge appliance management console.
Details
Click Details to view detailed information about the device.
ONVIF auto discovery
For devices that use the ONVIF protocol, you can use the ONVIF auto discovery feature in the edge appliance management console to find and add them.
On the Device Management tab, click ONVIF Auto Discovery.
In the panel that appears on the right, click Add next to the IP address of the target ONVIF device. The device is then added to the Device List in the edge appliance management console.
