Video Enterprise instances
IoT Edge provides a free video Enterprise instance to Alibaba Cloud accounts that activate an edge device for the first time on or after November 1, 2021. This topic describes the services, resources, and methods for upgrading and renewing this instance.
Instance services
The complimentary Video Enterprise instance offers the following services for activated edge appliances:
Cloud message channels
Cloud message rules engine
Remote subscription to cloud alert messages
Cloud API calls
ApsaraVideo Live and video-on-demand (VOD) playback
Cloud storage service for videos or images
Instance resources
The free video Enterprise instance includes the following resources:
Resource | Limit | Description |
|---|---|---|
Cloud message concurrency | 100 TPS | The maximum number of concurrent upstream and downstream messages. |
Cloud video playback bandwidth | 10 Mbps | The peak bandwidth for video playback. Additional video playback requests that exceed this limit fail. |
Cloud storage service | 1 TB | The maximum storage for videos or images. When the storage limit is reached, the oldest videos or images are overwritten. |
Service period | 3 years | The service period starts when you first activate an edge device and receive the free video Enterprise instance. Important After the instance expires, services such as message communication and video stream pulling are no longer available. You must then upgrade or renew the instance. For information about the operations and billing methods for upgrades and renewals, contact your Alibaba Cloud IoT Edge business representative.

Instance upgrade | The remaining service period of the current instance does not change. Only the video playback bandwidth or storage resources of the instance are extended. |
Instance renewal | The service period of the current instance is extended. The resource specifications of the instance do not change. |
