Create a project

  1. On the Project Management page, click New Project.

  2. On the New Project page, hover over the Create Empty Project area and click Create Empty Project.

  3. In the New Blank Project dialog box, enter a project name (for example, Tea Garden Monitoring Solution) and a description.
  4. Click OK.

Link existing products and devices

If you have already created your products and devices and defined a thing model for the product, you can link them to your project.

  1. On the Project Management page, find your target project (Tea Garden Monitoring Solution) in the project list and click the project card.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Products.
  3. On the Products page, click Link IoT Platform Products in the upper-left corner of the product list.
  4. In the Link IoT Products panel, select the product you want to link.
In this example, we link the Temperature Monitor product and its devices. Click Link IoT Platform Products. In the dialog box, select the Temperature Monitor product, select the Link all devices under the product checkbox, and then click OK.
  5. Select the Link all devices under the product checkbox.
  6. Click OK.
The linked product appears in the product list on the project's Products page.

Create a new product and device

If you have not created the required product, first create a product and define its thing model.

  1. On the Project Management page, find your target project in the project list and click the project card.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane of the project page, click Products > Create Product.
In this example, name the product Temperature Monitor. Select a custom category, and leave the other parameters at their default settings.

For more information about the parameters, see the parameter description table.

The default parameters are: node type is directly connected device, networking method is Wi-Fi, data format is ICA standard data format (Alink JSON), and authentication method is device secret. After configuring the settings, click OK.
  3. Click OK.
After the product is created, it appears in the Product List on the Products page.
  4. In the product list on the Products page, find your product and click View.
  5. On the Product Details page, click the Feature Definition tab, click Edit Draft, and then select Add Custom Feature.

This example adds the following custom property. For details, see Add a TSL Model Individually.

Name Identifier Type Value Unit Access
    Temperature temperature float (single-precision floating-point) -10 to 50 Celsius (°C) Read/Write
  6. In the left-side navigation pane of the project page, click Devices > Add Device.
    1. Click Add Device.
    2. In the Add Device dialog box, enter the device information and click OK.
For Product, select Temperature Monitor. Enter a DeviceName and an Alias. You can leave the DeviceName blank. If you do, the system automatically generates a unique identifier for the device.
After the device is created, the Added dialog box appears. You can view and copy the device certificate. The dialog box provides two options: View Device Information and Flash SDK to Device. You can click Copy Device Certificate to copy the device certificate, and then click Done to close the dialog box.

After the device is created, its status is inactive. To develop the device-side SDK and activate the device, see the Link SDK documentation.

To learn more about devices, see Devices.
