Billing for connection duration

IoT Platform charges devices by connection duration in minutes. Devices using CoAP or HTTP, and sub-devices in a topology, are exempt.

Billing method

Billing unit

Fees are calculated based on device connection duration in minutes.
Connection duration is measured from when a device successfully connects to IoT Platform until it disconnects. This period is called a connection duration segment.
Duration is billed by the minute. Partial minutes are rounded up to one minute.
Example: A device connects at 18:23:15 and disconnects at 18:25:10. The billable duration is 3 minutes.
Multiple connections within the same calendar minute are billed as one minute.
Example: A device connects at 18:23:15, disconnects at 18:23:35, reconnects at 18:23:40, and disconnects at 18:23:59. All activity falls within one minute, so the billable duration is 1 minute.

Unit price: CNY 1 per million minutes

Note For the first two months after you activate IoT Platform, you receive a free quota of 1 million minutes per month. This quota is deducted from your total connection duration before billing.

Billing and settlement

Usage is calculated and fees are settled daily.
Charges are rounded down to two decimal places.
