Scene building

The scene editor is located below the scene editor workbench. On the Scene Building tab, the supported operations are organized from left to right as follows.

Left-side panel

  • Before you select a 3D model, the My Resources list is displayed on the left by default. This list shows the 3D Resources that you have uploaded to the digital twin space and their corresponding model names. You can drag and drop models into the scene editor.

    Note

If you have purchased the IoT Digital Twin Ultimate Edition for the current instance, the IoT Digital Twin engine provides official 3D models. You can click Official Resources to view and use the official 3D resources.

  • After you select a 3D model, the module list for that model is displayed on the left.

Bottom operations

Below the scene editor, the following operations are supported. These operations apply to the entire scene editor.

  • image (Rotate): Left-click to rotate, right-click to move, and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom.

  • image (Move): Left-click to move, right-click to rotate, and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom.

  • image (Zoom In): Zoom in on the scene editor.

  • image (Zoom Out): Zoom out of the scene editor.

  • image (Auto-fit): Automatically fit the view to the size of the 3D models in the scene editor.

Right-side panel

  • Before you select a 3D model, the Scene Environment panel is displayed on the right by default. You can modify the following settings:

    • Camera: Default camera or Orthographic camera.

    • Light: Intensity percentage and color.

    • Background Color: Solid color or gradient.

    • Default View Edit: Set the default model scale, coordinates, and rotation angle that are displayed when you open the scene page for previewing or sharing. This is the fixed configuration for the initial view when the scene page is opened.

      Note
      • Regardless of how you change the model's scale, coordinates, or rotation angle in the scene editor, the scene page is always displayed according to the default view configuration when you open it for previewing or sharing.

      • In the scene editor workbench of the DEMO digital twin space, you can only move, scale, and rotate the view on the Default View Edit page for preview purposes. You cannot save the edited default view.

  • After you select a 3D model, the model configuration panel is displayed on the right. You can move, rotate, or scale the model along the X, Y, and Z axes. These actions correspond to the image (Move), image (Rotate), and image (Scale) features in the top operation bar.

You can click a module within the model to move, rotate, and scale it. For modules that do not have sub-modules, you can also change the module's color, as shown in the following figure.image
