Overview
This tutorial describes how to connect LoRa devices to IoT Platform.
Scenario
Because the environment in a museum directly affects the preservation of its collections, real-time monitoring of environmental parameters is critical.
This example describes a smart museum scenario. In this scenario, environmental sensors use LoRa communication technology to monitor metrics in areas where collections are stored. These metrics include temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, light intensity, and PM2.5. The LoRa environmental sensors connect to IoT Platform to report environmental data. You can then use the data forwarding feature of the IoT Platform rules engine to send the reported environmental data to other Alibaba Cloud services for your cloud applications.

The following diagram shows the IoT architecture based on LoRa self-organizing network technology.
Procedure
To connect LoRa devices to IoT Platform, complete the following steps:
- Configure a LoRa gateway: Set up the required network service.
- Register and configure a LoRa device: Create a LoRa product and device, define a Thing Specification Language (TSL) model, and write and submit a data parsing script for the LoRa device.
- Connect the device to IoT Platform: Power on the LoRa device to bring it online and report data.
