Configure alert rules
IoT Platform integrates with CloudMonitor to provide alerting services. You can configure alert rules to monitor resource usage and receive notifications when a rule is triggered.
Types of alerts
The following table describes the available alert types. Use this information to select a rule to configure.

CloudMonitor sends a notification when the resource usage of IoT Platform or the number of failed operations exceeds a specified threshold within a set period. For more information, see Alert information. |

Subscribe to specification alerts

Log on to the IoT Platform console. On the Overview page, find the target enterprise edition instance and click its name.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

On the Real-time Monitoring page, click Back to Old Version in the upper-right corner.

On the Data indicators tab, click Subscribe to Specification Alerts.

In the panel that appears on the right, select the alert items, set the corresponding thresholds, and click Next.

Configure the notification method and click Confirm.

Effective period
The period during which the alert rule is active. The rule monitors data only within this period.
Silence period
The interval for resending notifications for unresolved alerts.
Alarm Notification Object
Configure a contact group to receive alert notifications. To configure alert contacts, see Configure alert contacts.

ImportantIf you select a notification method that includes phone calls or SMS messages, make sure that you have a sufficient quota in CloudMonitor. You can move the pointer over the help icon

Create a threshold-triggered alert rule

Log on to the IoT Platform console.
On the Overview page, find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID or instance name.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose .

In the upper-right corner of the Real-time Monitoring page, click Back to classic console.
ImportantThis step is not required for a public instance.

On the Data indicators tab, click Alert Configuration. This action redirects you to the page of the CloudMonitor console.
After you are redirected to the CloudMonitor console:

If you have not created any alert rules for IoT Platform, proceed to the next step to create an alert rule.

If you have existing alert rules for IoT Platform, a modification panel appears. To create a new rule, click the close icon
in the panel's upper-right corner and proceed to the next step.

On the Alert Rules page, click Create Alert Rule. In the Create Alert Rule panel, configure the parameters for the rule, and then click OK.
The following table describes the key parameters. Configure the remaining parameters based on your business requirements.

Select IoT Platform, IoT Platform-Enterprise Edition Instance, or IoT Platform - AMQP Consumer Group.

If you set Product to IoT Platform or IoT Platform-Enterprise Edition Instance, the rule applies to all instances of IoT Platform.

If you set Product to IoT Platform - AMQP Consumer Group, the rule applies to all consumer groups across all instances.

Application Groups: The alert rule applies to all resources in the specified application group of IoT Platform, including newly added resources.
-
Instance: The alert rule applies only when the products or consumer groups of a specified instance meet the rule's conditions.
Add rule
Defines the condition that triggers an alert when monitored data meets specified criteria. To configure the rule, perform the following steps:

Click Add rule.

In the Add Rule Description panel, set parameters such as the rule name, metric type, metrics, threshold, alert level, and notification method.

Click OK.

Create an event-triggered alert rule

In the IoT Platform console, select your target instance, and then choose from the left-side navigation pane.

In the upper-right corner of the Real-time Monitoring page, click Back to classic console.

On the Data indicators tab, click Alert Configuration. This action redirects you to the page of the CloudMonitor console.
After you are redirected to the CloudMonitor console:

If you have not created any alert rules for IoT Platform, proceed to the next step to create an event-triggered alert rule.

If you have existing alert rules for IoT Platform, a modification panel appears. To create a new rule, click the close icon in the panel's upper-right corner and proceed to the next step.

In the left-side navigation pane of the CloudMonitor console, choose .

On the System Event page, click the Event-triggered Alert Rules tab. Then, click Create Alert Rule. In the panel that appears on the right, configure the alert rule and click OK.
Set Product Type to IoT Platform and configure other parameters as needed.
