Disable a device to prevent it from connecting to IoT Platform, or enable a disabled device to allow it to reconnect.

Note The disable and enable feature is not supported for LoRa devices.

Disable a device

Important A disabled device retains its associated information in IoT Platform but cannot connect, and no operations can be performed on it. Proceed with caution.

To disable a device in the IoT Platform console:

Important Ensure the physical device is offline before you disable it. An online device continuously attempts to reconnect after being disabled, which can trigger throttling if the request limit is exceeded and affect other devices under your account.
  1. Log on to the IoT Platform console.
  2. On the Overview page, find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID or instance name.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Device Management > Devices.
  4. On the Devices page, find the target device and turn off the Enable Status switch.

Enable a device

You can re-enable a disabled device to restore its connectivity.

To enable a device in the IoT Platform console:

  1. Log on to the IoT Platform console.
  2. On the Overview page, find the instance that you want to manage and click the instance ID or instance name.

  3. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Device Management > Devices.
  4. On the Devices page, find the target device and turn on the Enable Status switch.
