This topic describes the differences between IoT Platform public instances and Enterprise Edition instances in billing methods, features, and authentication methods for device connections. This helps you connect devices to IoT Platform instances that meet your business requirements. Then, you can manage and maintain the devices.

Background information

  • For more information about IoT Platform instances, see Overview.

  • For more information about the regions supported by IoT Platform, see Supported regions.

  • For more information about the billing rules of IoT Platform, see Billing overview.

Differences in billing methods and features

Public instances of the new version, public instances of the previous version, and Enterprise Edition instances use different billing methods. Instances of each type can manage resources such as the number of devices that can be connected to IoT Platform, the messaging transactions per second (TPS), and the message forwarding TPS. Instances of different types provide different service capabilities. The following table describes the differences in service capabilities.
