Data tables
Data tables let you manage tables from device data sources (platform system tables, platform device tables, and authorized tables) and external data sources. Key features include viewing table information and previewing data.
Background information
- Instances are categorized as legacy public instances, new public instances, and Enterprise Edition instances. Only legacy public instances can use the legacy Data Analysis feature and access data tables on the web page.
- The SQL Analysis feature uses standard SQL syntax. However, some table names, such as platform system tables and platform device data tables, use a special naming convention that includes
${}. Use the Data Table feature to manage this data.
Viewing data tables
- Sign in to the Data Analysis Console.
- In the top navigation bar, choose Data Assets and then click Data Table.
- On the Data Table page, select the target data table.
Note You can search for a data table by entering its name. Fuzzy search is supported.
On the Table Information tab, view the table's Basic Information (such as table name, number of fields, and description) and the table schema (field descriptions). For detailed descriptions of data table types, see the Data table descriptions section in this topic.
- Optional: Click the Data Preview tab to view the actual data in the table.
The Data Preview page displays the 20 most recent data entries by default. To view more data, use Visualized Analysis or SQL Analysis.
- Optional: Click Visualized Analysis or SQL Analysis to use the data table as a data source for analysis or development. For more information, see Visualized Analysis or SQL Analysis.
Data tables
- Platform system tables
Platform system tables store data for the products, devices, and device groups in IoT Platform.
- Device group relationship table
This table corresponds to the data on the Device List and Subgroup List tabs of the Group Details page. In the IoT Platform console, navigate to to find this page.
The Device List tab includes columns such as DeviceName, Product, Node Type, Status/Enabled Status, Last Online Time, and Actions. The Subgroup List tab includes columns such as Group Name, Group ID, Creation Time, and Actions. - Product table
This table corresponds to the data on the list page and the Product Details page in the IoT Platform console. The product list includes columns such as Product Name, ProductKey, Node Type, and Creation Time. Click View in the Actions column to go to the product details page. This page displays the ProductKey, ProductSecret, and number of devices, and provides tabs such as Product Information, Topic Categories, Feature Definitions, and Server-side Subscription. The product information includes fields such as product name, node type, creation time, category, data format, authentication method, status, network protocol, and product description.
- Device table
This table corresponds to the data on the list page and the Device Details page in the IoT Platform console. On the device list page, click View in the Actions column for a device to go to its Device Details page. This page includes tabs such as Device Information, Topic List, Status, Event Management, Service Invocation, Device Shadow, File Management, Log Service, and Online Debug.
- Device group table
This table corresponds to the data on the list page and the Group Information tab of the Group Details page in the IoT Platform console. The group list page includes columns such as Group Name, Group ID, and Creation Time. Click View in the Actions column to go to the group details page. This page displays information such as Group Level, Group ID, Total Devices, Active Devices, and Online Devices, and provides three tabs: Group Information, Device List, and Subgroup List.
- Device group relationship table
- Platform device tables
- Device data table
This table stores the historical operational data generated by devices. By default, IoT Platform provides one month of free data storage for each product. Therefore, the device data table stores the most recent month of operational data for each device.Note If you configure a longer data retention period for a product, such as six months, in the section, you can query the device's historical data for the last six months.
- Device snapshot table
This table stores device snapshots. The Data Preview tab shows the operational information for all devices of a specific product in IoT Platform.
The data table contains fields such asNote If a product has multiple properties but only one property is reported at a certain time, the Data Preview tab displays only the most recently reported property. Other properties are stored as historical data.$device_name,temperature,$product_key,$iot_id, and$type. By default, a preview of the 20 most recent entries is shown. You can view more data in Visualized Analysis or SQL Analysis. - Device event table
This table stores device event data. The Data Preview tab shows event data reported by all devices under a product that has events enabled in IoT Platform. In the left-side navigation pane, expand Device Event Table and select a specific event sub-table, such as Light Fault Report, to preview its data. The data includes fields such as
$event_name,$event_type,$event_code,$event_time, and$event_date. By default, a preview of the 20 most recent entries is shown.
- Device data table
- Authorized tables
Note This feature depends on the device authorization feature of IoT Platform. For more information, see Authorize devices. After another IoT Platform user authorizes you to access their devices, you can view the corresponding product data tables in the authorized tables section. These include the device data table, device snapshot table, and device event table. Similar to platform device data tables, each table's information can be viewed on the Table Information and Data Preview tabs. The authorized table schema includes 25 fields, such as
$device_name(VARCHAR, device name),$event_date(VARCHAR, date when the device data was generated),$event_time(TIMESTAMP, timestamp when the device data was generated),$iot_id(VARCHAR, unique identifier of the device),$product_key(VARCHAR, unique identifier of the product), and$type(VARCHAR, device type). - External data sources
External data sources are displayed on the External Data Sources tab under in IoT Platform. You can configure business database accounts to perform cross-domain data analysis during data development. For more information, see External Data Sources.
In the left-side navigation tree of the Data Table page, select a target data table under the External Data Source group. The Table Information and Data Preview tabs are displayed on the right. The Table Information tab includes basic information (such as table name, number of fields, Chinese name, data source, and description) and a table schema list (field name, data type, and remarks).Note External data sources currently support RDS for MySQL. Self-managed databases are not supported. Support for more types of cloud database products will be added in the future.
