Create hotwords on the console

Background

Hotwords are classified as name-based and business-specific:

• Name-based (person names or place names)

  Currently, name-based hotwords support only person names and place names. A word list can contain either person names or place names, but not both.

• Business-specific

  These are terms unique to your business domain. A single word list for business-specific hotwords can contain terms of different types. For example, "Apple", "Husky", and "Xiaoming" can be in the same hotword file.

Prerequisites

Intelligent Speech Interaction is activated. For more information, see Activate Intelligent Speech Interaction.

Limits

• Only Chinese words and single English words are supported.

• The hotword file must be a .txt file that is smaller than 100 KB and encoded in UTF-8 (without BOM).

• You can create up to 10 hotword groups for each category. Each word list can contain a maximum of 500 hotwords, with one hotword per line. A hotword cannot exceed 15 characters. This limit is the combined number of Chinese characters and English letters.

  If you need to add a large number of hotwords, use language model customization. For more information, see Language model customization.

• Numbers in words or phrases must be replaced with the corresponding Chinese characters based on pronunciation. For example, "58.9元" must be replaced with "五十八点九元".

• Do not include special characters other than spaces, tabs, line feeds, and form feeds in the file.

Create hotwords

After you create a hotword group, it takes effect immediately for new speech recognition requests. It does not apply to requests already in progress.

1. Log on to the Intelligent Speech Interaction console.

2. In the navigation pane, choose Self-learning Platform > Hotwords.

3. On the Hotwords page, click Create Hotword.

4. In the Add Hotword Group dialog box, enter a Hotword Group Name, select a Hotword Category, upload your hotword file, and then click OK.

Apply hotwords

1. Log on to the Intelligent Speech Interaction console.

2. In the navigation pane, choose All Projects. In the project list, find your target project and click Configure Project Features.

3. In the Self-learning section, select the hotword group you created and click Apply. The hotword group is now applied to your project.

   Hotword types include person name hotwords, place name hotwords, and business-specific hotwords. You can also select a language model.
