KVCacheStore performance testing
Use kvcs_cli to test the throughput and IOPS performance of KVCacheStore.
Prerequisites
You have created a KVCacheStore. When you created the Lingjun GPU server, you associated the file system. You have installed kvcs_cli. For details, see Quick start.
Background information
(Recommended) Use kvcs_cli to test the performance of KVCacheStore. Different tools return different KVCacheStore performance results. These results may not reflect the actual performance. The performance metrics in the examples of this topic are test results from kvcs_cli on Linux. The test results serve as a reference for the KVCacheStore Specifications.
The data provided in the product specifications is theoretical only. These are reference values from the Alibaba Cloud lab test environment. Actual data is subject to your operating environment. Differences between test environments may cause deviations in the performance data. Factors such as the I/O size, concurrency, storage-side load, and read/write ratio affect the test results.
Procedure
Log on to the Lingjun GPU server.
Run the kvcs_cli performance test command.
1MiB Put:
kvcs_cli bench \ --op put \ --batches 128 \ --batch-size 1 \ --key-size 64 \ --ring-entries 1 \ --value-size 1048576 \ --key-prefix 1m-test-0 \ --duration 30 \ --low-level \ --value-format raw1MiB Get:
kvcs_cli bench \ --op get \ --batches 128 \ --batch-size 1 \ --key-size 64 \ --ring-entries 1 \ --value-size 1048576 \ --key-prefix 1m-test-1 \ --duration 30 \ --low-level \ --value-format raw
kvcs_cli parameters
The following table describes the parameters in the test command.
Parameter | Description | 4KiB example | 1MiB example |
| Method |
| Value size |
| Number of keys |
| Batch size |
| Number of workers per batch |
| Keys transferred per operation |
| Test duration |
| The key prefix. Specify a unique prefix for each test. Otherwise, conflicts occur and affect the test results. |
