This topic describes how to activate the compute engine service.

Prerequisites

A Lindorm instance is created. For more information, see Create an instance.

Billing method

The fees for the compute engine consist of the following two parts:

  • Elastic resources fees

Billing is based on your actual resource usage, which is measured in CUs. Resources scale elastically with the compute load.

Unit price: 1 CU costs CNY 0.203 per hour.

    Note

CU conversion: 1 vCPU and 4 GB of memory = 1 CU, 1 vCPU and 2 GB of memory = 0.8333 CU, and 1 vCPU and 8 GB of memory = 1.3333 CU.

  • Base usage fees: 15 CUs.

Activate the compute engine service

  1. Log on to the Lindorm console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. On the Instances page, click the ID of the target instance or click View Instance Details in the Actions column for the instance.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Database Connections.

  5. Click the Compute Engine tab and then click Activate Now.

  6. In the Activate Compute Engine? dialog box, click OK.

  7. The status of the Lindorm instance changes to RESIZING. This process takes 5 to 10 minutes.

  8. Wait until the instance status changes to Running. This indicates that the compute engine is activated.

  9. Optional: After the compute engine service is activated, you can click Enable Public Endpoint on the Compute Engine tab to enable a public endpoint.

Compute engine vSwitch settings

You must provide a vSwitch with sufficient available IP addresses to ensure that the compute engine resource group runs properly. After the compute engine is activated, perform the following steps to add a vSwitch:

  1. Log on to the Lindorm console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the instance is deployed.

  3. On the Instances page, click the ID of the target instance or click View Instance Details in the Actions column for the instance.

  4. In the navigation pane on the left, click Compute Engine.

  5. Click the O&M Management tab.

  6. Click Modify. In the Configure vSwitch dialog box, select a vSwitch that has sufficient available IP addresses.

    Note
    • If you create a new vSwitch, make sure that the vSwitch is in the same zone as the Lindorm instance. For more information, see Create and manage vSwitches.

    • The Configure Network vSwitch dialog box displays only the vSwitches that are in the same zone as the Lindorm instance.

    • You can select a maximum of five vSwitches.

  7. Click OK.
