What is Alibaba Cloud Link WAN
Alibaba Cloud Link WAN (Link WAN) is a network management platform for the Internet of Things (IoT). It helps developers build private enterprise networks that support high capacity and high concurrency.
Link WAN works with Alibaba Cloud IoT Platform. This combination allows developers to easily implement features and manage their own wireless IoT coverage areas.
The following figure shows the relationship between Link WAN and other IoT products.
Basic and Professional Editions
Link WAN provides network management features at two service levels: Basic Edition and Professional Edition.
Basic Edition
The Basic Edition is ideal for small-scale networks. It supports gateways and nodes that use the Link WAN protocol. After you activate the network management service, it defaults to the Basic Edition.
Professional Edition
The Professional Edition is designed for enterprise-level operations. It supports high-speed enhanced gateways. A single gateway can serve over 10,000 communication nodes. This capacity is based on a use case where each node is a smoke sensor that sends data twice per hour. This edition also provides network management service APIs that allow you to connect to your Business Operating Support System (BOSS). To activate the Professional Edition, you must sign an offline contract. You can submit a ticket to contact Alibaba Cloud business support.
