The FROM_UNIXTIME function converts a numeric UNIX timestamp to a DATETIME value. This topic describes the syntax, parameters, and examples of the FROM_UNIXTIME function.
Command format
datetime from_unixtime(bigint <unixtime>)Parameters
unixtime: Required. A BIGINT value that represents a UNIX timestamp in seconds. The value must be in the range of [-62167305600, 253402387200].
If the input is a STRING, DOUBLE, or DECIMAL value and the data type edition for your MaxCompute project is 1.0, the input value is implicitly converted to BIGINT before the calculation.
Return value
Returns a DATETIME value in the yyyy-mm-dd hh:mi:ss format. If the unixtime value is NULL, the function returns NULL.
In Hive-compatible mode (set odps.sql.hive.compatible=true;):
If the input parameter is a STRING value, the return value is also a STRING value.
You can pass a second parameter to specify the output format. For example, you can set the format to "yyyy-MM-dd" or "YYYY-MM-dd". `yyyy` represents the calendar year, and `YYYY` represents the week-based year. The week-based year may differ from the calendar year. Use this format with caution.
Sample data
This topic provides sample data and examples to help you understand this function. You can create the `mf_date_fun_t` table and insert data into it by running the following command.
create table if not exists mf_date_fun_t(
id int,
date1 date,
datetime1 datetime,
timestamp1 timestamp,
date2 date,
datetime2 datetime,
timestamp2 timestamp,
date3 string,
date4 bigint);
insert into mf_date_fun_t values
