MaxCompute Studio is a plugin that runs on IntelliJ IDEA. This topic describes how to install IntelliJ IDEA, the base platform for MaxCompute Studio.
Prerequisites
You can install IntelliJ IDEA on Windows, macOS, or Linux. For hardware and system requirements, see Requirements for IntelliJ IDEA.
Procedure

Download IntelliJ IDEA. Select the version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux). This guide uses Windows as an example. IntelliJ IDEA version 14.1.4 or later is supported.
Important-
IntelliJ IDEA is available in the Ultimate Edition and the free Community Edition.

You must use IntelliJ IDEA 2024.2.5 or earlier, as the MaxCompute Studio plugin is not compatible with later versions.

Once downloaded, double-click the installer to open the setup wizard. Click Next.

Specify the installation directory and click Next.
The default installation directory is
C:\Program Files\JetBrains\IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition 2018.1.4. To change it, click Browse. -
Configure the installation options and click Next.
Under Create Desktop Shortcut, select the 64-bit launcher checkbox.

Click Install.

When the installation is complete, click Finish.
Ensure the Run IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition checkbox is selected.
